The hotel Manutara is a very short walk from the airport, but with only one plane a day, noise is not a problem. It's a 15 minute walk into Hanga Roa town so very quiet at night.

The hotel has about 20 rooms set in attractive gardens and around a small pool. The rooms are a reasonable size, clean and comfortable. Most importantly, the bed was good and I slept very well both nights I stayed. The rooms can get a little cod in winter, so the extra blanket supplied is useful.

The breakfast was simple but tasty, especially the fresh, local avocados and bananas. Wifi is available in the main building, where there is also a small common room and bar. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Manutara means in Rapa Nui "sun bird", ( sacred migratory birds)the most famous bird of this island history ( ,according to the legend, the future king of the island would be the men ( afterwords called bird men) ( Tangata Manu) that during the hard anual competition and challange they had to confront, diving from a high cliff and swimming to the islet of Moto Nui, to be the first one to grab the first sooty tern manutara egg of the season from the Manutara bird and swim back again to Rapa Nui and climb the clifs.
This is a very simple and friendlly hotel, beautiful gardens, pool, free wiffi at the lobby ( in Easter Island wiffi is very difficult to get, only in main lobby hotels and a few restaurants). You will feel at home with the employes , few but very nice people. The only "but", though to me was not ,as i look into other hotels and asManutara hotel stays otside of Hanga Roa town..either you walk 10 minutes or grab a taxi (cheap) to go to the main street od the village. But,all my friends that stayed in different hotels of the same rate or above said that Manutara was really nicer ,peaceful and made you feel home.

Room Tip: I stayed in number 6, very next to the pool and lobby , but for sure they have plenty of rooms and similar. All are very quiet.

Unless you go big dollars, choices are limited in Easter Island. This hotel is family run and they are very friendly.

The location is walkable for the airport and town. It has a pool and basic wifi.

Luxury it is not, but a comfortable friendly place to stop for a few nights.

Very close to the airport, could almost have walked except for large roller bags on cobblestone roads.

Room was very basic although large. Soft mattress, air conditioner - no remote/control unit provided but fan did the job. No hot water in the morning in the shower.

Standard European buffet breakfast.
Internet in reception and foyer although pretty slow.

Pool was a welcome relief after a day of touring.

Lovely place to stay with a pool and spacious seating area around the pool and reception. The gardens were beautiful and very relaxing. Good breakfast with lots of fruit. Very helpful reception staff. Thought the rooms very basic initially but the surroundings grew on you and I enjoyed staying there, The only real problem was the location. A 20min walk from the centre which would be fine if it wasn't so hot. Its worth taking the 2000 pesos taxi ride even if its a bit of hassle. You can easily walk to the airport with your luggage from this hotel but you won't be disturbed by its proximity as there's only 1 flight a day! Wi-Fi only available at reception.
