“Stayed here for 1 night for a wedding a Royal Welsh Showground”
Reviewed 13 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We needed a place to stay for 1 night in Builth Wells for a wedding on a Friday at the Royal Welsh Showground. There was myself, my husband and my teenage son and my daughter and her boyfriend, so we were looking for something just to crash our heads for the night without being too expensive, we had thought that a static caravan would be the ideal option, but on searching for places we found a lot did not accept a booking for 1 night only. We found this bungalow through Tripadvisor and it seemed perfect as it would sleep the 5 of us and it was very reasonably priced. It also had parking for up to 3 cars which was useful as there was going to be 2 cars. We arrived from after the ceremony and had explained prior to going that we were not sure what time we would be able to collect the keys etc as we had to travel to the wedding that morning and then from the ceremony an hour to the reception and hoped to be able to get the keys and leave one car then before going to the reception. The owner (forgotten his name now - sorry) was very accommodating and said he would be there anyway so it was not a problem. We rang en route to say we were on our way. I

We were quite shocked at the size of the accommodation and he said he hoped we would be okay as they normally only had children not grown up children. We said it was more than adequate. There were two bedrooms, one with a double bed and very spacious and the other also very spacious with a single bed and a double bed. There was a large loungewith large sofa and huge flat screen tv off the lounge was a conservatory with a dining table in. There was a bathroom with bath and shower over the bath. Towels were supplied and shower gel and shampoo & conditioner and soap. The kitchen was lovely modern fitted kitchen with kettle and microwave and cooker and everything you could need. There was tea and coffee and sugar and other bits in the cupboards that you may require if you were staying for a week. There was a fridge/freezer and he had bought in milk and butter and a loaf of bread and mini packets of cereal and a packet of biscuits. We werent expecting this at all, so it was a real treat.

We thanked him greatly. We then left one car and all went to the wedding reception. Myself and my husband then came back with the car and my sister and husband and mum came in their vehicle to enable us to get a lift back for the evening party so we could leave the car. My mum also wanted to change out of her outfit into something more comfortable. They were also very impressed with the standard of the accommodation and with the location. It is only about 1.5 miles from the Grandstand of the Royal Welsh Showground. It would be an ideal rental for anything going on at the Showground and also just a lovely holiday place for a family because it is in the centre of the town and so walkable to a pub or a take away or shops.

Highly recommend this and we will definately bear it in mind for the future for anything we need to stay for. Such lovely people and so accommodating and pleasant. Just felt like a home not a sparse holiday let.

Thanks Carlo, it was kind of you to leave a review. Weddings are hectic at the best of times and I'm glad we helped you to enjoy the day and have somewhere handy to prepare, and rest and recuperate. Thanks for looking after the property and leaving it so clean and tidy. Hopefully we will meet again one day. All the best. Ian and Eironwy

“Very warm and welcoming”
Reviewed 2 December 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed at Maesycoed No 2 whilst attending an equine event at the Royal Showground which is very close by. Ian waited for us to arrive even though we weren't sure what time that would be and was very warm, welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was very cosy, clean and well furnished and met our needs perfectly.
Ian also returned to say goodbye to us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

“Fabulous”
Reviewed 25 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stayed in this fantastic, excellent house in August 2015, the decor is lovely and bright and it was spotlessly clean, cosy and situated on a nice quiet road. Our children enjoyed the stay. House owner Ian is very nice, helpful and extremely speedy communication with him prior to stay and welcomed us and showed us around the house. Thanking him for his excellent service and lovely home. 100% perfect home away home. Had a couple of overcast days but it didn't matter as the accommodation was so comfortable to relax/ watch DVDs etc in. Would definitely come again and definitely recommend. This was the best holiday stay we had.
