Stunning location even bettered by our hosts Steve and Chris and there warm welcome . The welcome pack was superb home made everything including great wine .
The cottage is so comfortable we were reluctant to leave and the wildlife is amazing.
The local walks are so pretty with astounding views across the valley and beyond never mind the stunning gardens with secluded seats to sit and watch the birds .
All in all a wonderful week in a stunning valley .
Thanks again Chris and Steve we will see you again.

“a magical location, a lucky find”
Reviewed 6 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

This was our first holiday with our ten-month-old son. Chris and Steve did their utmost to make it memorable and enjoyable. They were perfect hosts. As soon as we arrived they brought us cream teas and showed us around the lovely gardens. There is a summer house at the bottom of a walkway between raised beds, with bat and bird boxes, and a river behind it, which runs past a secret fairy garden. Chickens cluck in the yard, and all manner of birds visit the feeders that hang outside Nuthatch Cottage's windows. We saw tits, siskins, robins, nuthatches, finches, and once, a large spotted woodpecker! We had a welcome pack of milk, butter, eggs, homemade marmalade and honey, chocolate cake, fairy cakes, and elder flower wine. Nuthatch Cottage was a great base to explore the Elan Valley, and the villages and sites of the Brecon Beacons. Also, it was cosy and warm with a lovely ambience. We would definitely go back!

“A truly beautiful part of Wales”

A beautiful lush location exuding peace and tranquillity is the setting for this quite small and very well equipped cottage. There are feeders hung outside the windows attracting a good variety of birds which are enthralling to watch.

We had a very warm welcome from our hosts Chris and Steve, along with a wealth of local knowledge of the area if needed. We were treated to a welcome basket of goodies which included the most delicious home grown free range eggs we have ever tasted - and cake!

This a good location to explore the Brecon Beacons and the Elan Valley, but we loved the local walks and scenery best of all. And there is a delightful bonus of and amazing garden created by Chris and Steve complete with summer house where you can sit, eat and even star gaze at night. The garden is well worthy of its inclusion in the National Open Garden Scheme.

This is a truly beautiful part of Wales and a warm 'family feel' welcome awaits you. Lovely!!

“Wonderful cottage in a stunning location.”

We spent two weeks at Chris and Steve's beautiful cottage in September 2016. It is a truly magical place, the cottage is cosy and well equipped, the gardens are stunning, Chris and Steve are wonderful hosts and make you fell welcome and relaxed the moment you arrive. The gardens are an excellent spot for star gazing, there were amazing views of the Milky Way. The cottage is a great base for exploring the surrounding area, including the Brecon Beacons and Elan Valley, but some of the best walks we went on were straight from the door or just up the road at Abergwesyn. I would highly recommend Tyn y Cwm for anyone who wants a romantic, peaceful and relaxing break in a stunning location.

“A beautiful small gem in a quiet valley”

After a week’s stay in Steve and Christine’s cosy one bedroom cottage, we felt we had been very lucky. There were many reasons. Although small, the cottage is very well designed, cosy and luxuriously equipped, creating a functional space that feels like home. The surrounds, particularly the gardens on the property, are relaxing and beautiful, including the various walks possible. Steve and Christine responded speedily to email inquiries prior to our arrival. They were attentive, generous and happy hosts, offering a tasty welcome pack and lots of advice about places to see and where to shop. When we left, we felt we had made new friends and, if we were not so far away, we would love to continue enjoying their company.
