Friendly staff, good breakfast included.
A bit too far to walk into town, however worth the slightly extra cost and inconvenience.
Had the turret room with excellent view. Large and comfortable.
Toilet shower a new experience for us. If a small modern washbasin replaced the existing it would have made a difference to the cramped environment.

Room Tip: Go for one of the turret rooms - worth the extra

Starting a round Britain trip and the start point is Barmouth. This hotel is really delightful. The proprietors have done a really good job of making people feel welcome and every attention to detail. I am in a single room which has everything you need and is very comfortable.
I had dinner in the restaurant and it was really excellent. Also the ambience of the restaurant and the service could not be faulted. I just hope that all of the hotels and restaurants over the next four weeks will in some way reach the high standards of the Ty’r Graig Castle.

Only here for one night. Took a turret room which had an amazing view. Host gave very interesting history of the building.....it’s not a castle, it was built to look like one !!
Decor is a bit dated and could benefit from a refit, and tv reception was very poor. We could only get BBC 1 and that was intermittent.....so take a book !
Nice breakfast......

This castle, yes a castle! Was a great little break staying in an 18th century building was a great experience with charming decor of the era plus a fantastic sea and coastal view set on the side of a mountain ?
We stayed in a turret room on the second floor(not advisable for disabled as no lift) with a 4 poster bed in the middle of room either side of a spectaculer sea view windows. The room always felt cold as the heating was not on but was charmingly unusual.
We had b&b so sampled the 1st nights dinner menu i had steak which was very nice the wife had a curry in which she enjoyed ! The dining area was romantic and overlooking the spectaculer sea view!
We then walked into barmouth which was aproximately a mile and a half away which was a pleasant walk.
The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice !
I leave some pics for your perusal

Just returned from the castle after a fab w/end in Barmouth ,the hotel is situated in a lovely spot overlooking the beach about ten minutes walk from the town centre,we stayed in a turret room which was lovely ,although the bathroom was a little small it did not distract from our stay ,the food was excellent ,lovely breakfast ,and evening meals were superb especially the venison and duck ,the staff are all very helpful and nothing is too much trouble ,all in all a most enjoyable stay ,we will be back .
