We spent a week at Goshen Cottage as a family exploring The Borders. From the moment we booked, Nicki (the owner) could not have been more helpful, answering any questions and she was very happy to provide extra blow up beds for the children. From the moment we opened the door of Goshen we knew we'd found a little gem! The rooms were all beautifully presented and each had gorgeous accessories (which we later discovered were bought locally in the town's lovely shops) and the welcome basket was full of local luxury produce, such as tablet, (a local sort of fudge) meringue, fresh bread, chocolate, wine, bottled water, etc, on top of this the children's beds each had a little toy for them to play with.
The kitchen was well equipped and we were provided with tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, etc, all meant we didn't have to rush out to the shops. The dining room had a brilliant cupboard full of brand new books and games, catering for all ages, much to my daughter's delight. On top of that a fabulous and extensive visitor guide book which we used throughout the week as a reference for our adventures.
The bedrooms are stunning and the childrens books written about local places are a lovely touch, also the beds and bedding are so comfortable. The lounge opens up onto a walled garden, which was lovely to sit out in and featured a great Jamie Oliver barbeque.
We explored the local area and found it easy to visit, Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island in one day, we also managed Edinburgh Zoo and the Kelpies, but there are plenty of walks, castles and little towns to visit locally. Basically a fabulous cottage in a lovely town, which is great for exploring the stunning Borders.

“Top Quality Accommodation”
Reviewed 2 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Goshen Cottage is a wonderfully presented, comfortable cottage in the heart of Kelso that offers flexible accommodation. Ideally located for the centre of Kelso, the cottage is cosy and offers lovely entertaining space. It is the little details that makes this cottage special - the welcome pack, the quality of the bed linen, the homely feel, the standard of the fixtures and fittings. Highly recommended.

“Fabulous find. Wonderful accommodation and location”
Reviewed 19 February 2015 for a stay in June 2014

Goshen Cottage - what a truly fabulous find. The cottage is simply brilliant and has everything you could possibly wish for from a holiday base. It's also finished to a very high specification. Beautiful place for a holiday.

The local area is stunning and has some amazing walks close by and further a field. The town of Kelso is delightful and has plenty of eateries and shopping opportunities. Kelso is also close enough to Edinburgh, where we spent a busy day.

The owner Nicky was so very welcoming and was at hand when we needed her.

An amazing holiday, accommodation and location, which suited so many different activities. Will definitely return if we go to Scotland again.

Many thanks.

“Great place, great location!”

We were a bit unsure about booking the cottage are there weren't any photos of the childrens bedrooms and we didn't know what the exact arrangement was. But as this was a late booking and we struggled to find anywhere else, at short notice, we took a chance.
I am so glad we did! The accommodation was excellent. I am sad to say my favourite things were the free wifi and the washer-dryer but these are important! (oh and the dishwasher too!) But joking apart the cottage itself was extremely spacious and comfortable and top notch quality. There was a lovely enclosed garden through the big patio doors and an extra loo as well. It can sleep six as the pull-down double bed in the lounge was very comfy.
The info pack was the best we've ever used and made planning what to do so much easier. There was also a telly in the dining room so we didn't have to be on top of each other too much...great when you have 2 teenagers to placate. The only downside was the stairs down into the lounge which were a little steep but apart from that nothing and how many holiday rentals can you say that about!
All in all a lovely cottage that we can heartily recommend.
