We have stayed at Bridge cottage several times. It’s our no1 choice on Exmoor for several reasons. Firstly the cottage itself is lovely, very quaint and cosy. It feels old but has all the mod cons one needs. (Central heating, dish-washer , wi-fi etc). Secondly the location in the centre of the village is great, being next to the small but handy village shop, post office & tea rooms, which are also run by the very friendly owners. Thirdly the gardens are lovely, bordering the river, which our dogs love to paddle and swim in. Finally the area is fantastic, great for walkers, with local walks up Winsford hill, along the valley to Tarr steps or simply up onto the moors which border the village. The local pub (Royal Oak, 200 metres away) is nice, doing good pub food in a typical Exmoor pub style.
