“Perfect.... Almost!”
Reviewed 23 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Fantastic cabin. Secluded and peaceful, yet within easy walking distance of the town with its range of pubs and cafes. Perfect for walkers or anyone wanting a relaxing break, to enjoy the outdoors.

The cabin is lovely and modern and fully equipped with everything you would need for your stay. The balcony is nice and the hot tub amazing!

The town has a lovely deli, and coffee shops, with 3 nice pubs. Try the tapas style menu at housemans restaurant. We would also recommend plush cycles the bike hire shop. The golf course makes for a very fun round with some really tricky holes built into the side of the hills.

The only small criticism I have Is something I feel slightly embarrassed to mention these as it is so minor, but since everything else was literally perfect, I think it is worth a mention, as I could be easily fixed.

The coin operated outdoor heater; I appreciate some careless people may leave the heater on all night but surely it could have been fitted with a simple timer switch like you see on heaters in most pub gardens, rather than making you pay for electricity. To be honest It left a sour taste to have to put 20p in the meter every 12 minutes, especially given the relatively high (but deserved) price of the accommodation. It is hassle trying to make sure you have a stash of 20p's each evening just in case you fancy sitting outside. Installing a coin machine was a very poor decision in my opinion, which takes the shine off an otherwise perfect holiday rental.

Thanks for the lovely review and for the feedback on the coin meter - we'll look into replacing it with a push timer switch. Note that the meter also accepts a £1 coin for 60 mins of heating, but agree a simple timer switch would be easier for guests. Sara & Mark x

“Perfect couples getaway”

Fantastic stay at The Oaks. Booked a short holiday here not long after it had been available online, i was apprehensive due to the fact there was no reviews i could read. I can honestly say this hidden gem exceeded all expectations. Every last detail has been accounted for to make your stay at the oaks the perfect little paradise. The I took my partner here for our 3rd anniversary as a surprise, she was absolutely stunned as she arrived and saw the accommodation. It includes all modern anemeties that you could wish for and more. The superior kingside bed is pure luxury and the hot tub is the icing on the cake. In a nutshell i would advise to book your stay whilst there is still availability. I will recommend to all friends, family and others who are looking for the perfect getaway.

“Absolutely amazing.”

Me and my partner have just got back from staying at the oaks for 4 nights. And we are already looking at booking again for next year! We had a lovely weekend and loved everything but especially the hottub, fire bowl and luxurious bed. We also loved how private it was.
Sara was lovely and genuine, and made us feel very welcome.
We have recommended to friends in which one has booked for next year.
Your definately wont be disappointed by this stay and there's plenty to do around the area. We visited Telford, Shrewsbury and church Stretton.
Thank you for a brilliant weekend Sara.

Me and husband decided to visit Church Stretton after we passed through it on the train to Cardiff multiple times. After looking online for a place to stay we came across The Oaks Lodge and the reviews were great! We couldn't have asked for a nicer owner who was wonderfully welcoming and more than happy to give us a 5* service at her own expense (what ever time a day we could give her a call). The lodge was in a fantastic location with easy access to the town. The hot tub and comfy bed were my absolute highlight! I would definitely recommend to anyway staying in Church Stretton and would stay here again no doubt!! THANK YOU!

I stopped with my girlfriends for her 30th for two nights. It exceeded all our expectations from the private, relaxing location to the beautiful, well designed lodge that caters for your every need. The bed was so comfy and the hot tub was so relaxing. Its only a small walk into the local town but you don't want to leave the lodge as it has every thing you need. We were sad to leave and wished we could of stayed longer. We will definitely be back!
