This place is set by the canal side with tables outside. Lovely on a sunny evening. The food is great, plus sagres beer on tap and a gin bar. Service is really good and friendly. The restaurants as a nice buzz about it. A must.

Had a great Sunday lunch at The Waterfront yesterday, it was our first visit to this restaurant and it certainly won’t be the last. On arrival we were seated and drinks orders were swiftly taken, the Warner’s Rhubarb Gin was spot on. Although there was a menu we decided on the carvery as it looked and smelled delicious. There was three meats to choose from and I chose beef which came with all the usual trimmings, Yorkshire pudding, pigs in blankets and stuffing together with a good variety of vegetables. Although totally stuffed after dinner we managed to devour a pudding......peach and cherry crumble with custard, what a great finish to a perfect lunch. It did get busy so booking in advance is recommended.

Arrived on a Sunday without booking and they were able to accommodate. They have a gluten free menu with a nice range of dishes including vegetarian options. It was great to have gluten free bread and dipping oil. The portion sizes were quite large. My partner had the carvery which he really enjoyed. We will be visiting again

Visited with friends for birthday celebrations. Took half an hour to get served with a drink. The food was poor - had fish and chips - batter overcooked. One friend said there was more batter than fish. Disappointed as such a great setting. Need to up their game. There was one waitress who knew what she was doing - the others didn't seem to know what to do.

We visited for lunch because we had been there a month previously and had a good meal. On this occasion it was not a good experience. Starters arrived promptly, then we waited for an interminable length of time until we asked what the delay was, especially as one of our party was only having a main course, so of course was hungry. We were told that we had to wait in the queue as our order had gone into the kitchen after several others - even though the starter came quickly. A very defensive young woman trying to justify the delays. An educated guess was a kitchen short of staff after a busy weekend, even though the dining room was not at all busy. Our one gluten free lunch consisted of overcooked sardines and potatoes which looked as though they had been heated up from the previous day, not very hot so appeared to have been sitting around for a while. The other three meals were average, but not good enough to encourage a return visit, and certainly did not justify the delay. We were offered a 'complimentary' dessert but declined, and decided to go to Foxton Locks where we found some delicious local ice cream!
