Visited with friends, sat upstairs in the restaurant which is nicely decorated. Enjoyed the rose wine, the starter was the best scallops and black pudding was wonderful ; wish I'd had it for main as well! Main course was fish stew, it was very tasty but perhaps the bar had been set so high with the starter.
Great service, efficient and friendly would certainly go back.

A year or so ago I wrote a poor review on a local pub, The Alma Arms, to which we had been a regular customer and who, having been told that we had just flown back from Spain, and had come directly to the pub, they refused to take our food order, despite arriving before the appointed closed kitchen order time, claiming that the till was closed, but not for drinks. We never went back !
In Market Harborough we arrived at the Rocksalt Seafood restaurant at five minutes to 3.00 (they actually close at 3.00). They checked with the kitchen and welcomed us in. The food was great and they made no attempt to rush us. We had calamari, followed by the seafood linguine with lobster tails and a bottle of prosecco. It was that good that I booked again for the next day. We live on the borders of Essex and London, but my cousin lives in Northampton, so we will revisit the restaurant in the foreseeable future. My only severe complaint to the management, was that the restaurant is not nearer to my home so that I could frequent it more often. Very well done to Rocksalt and its excellent staff !

Had a lovely lunch with my partner really fancied a good steak so treated myself to the fillet. Beautifully cooked and very tasty. My partner especially liked the fishcake from the specials board. Staff were attentive too.

We visited for a 21st birthday lunch on a Saturday . A party if 10 planned weeks in advance.
We visit here quite regularly especially Saturday lunch as it is quite relaxed and conveniently located.
The reception from the staff was pleasant and it appears to have had a little tlc added to the decorations and fittings.
All went well, the starters were all good and we were having a good time. It didn't appear to be full so the following problem was a bit of a mystery.
Having cleared out starter plates and waited about 20 mins or so the waitress advised that it would be 15 mins more as the double cooked chips were not ready. We could have French fries but that was not why we ate there. This was over an hour after we first sat down. They knew we wanted double cooked chips for 4 of the party so it was obviously missed.
A further 20 mins and food appeared with chips as ordered although not up to the usual twice cooked standard....rushed one would assume. The minimum of apology and we were now a bit upset.
The mains were good as always but the saving grace was a free dessert to offset the wait. That was a good move but could have been timed better when the issue arose.
The desserts again were all good and we were satisfied if a little tired as it had taken a long time to be served.
Still, the food is good and well worth the visit for any newbies out there.
