“Wonderful cottage. Wonderful location.”
Reviewed 11 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Lonsdale Cottage is located in the heart of the pretty historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, set on the banks of the river Lune in Cumbria. Just a minute's walk to the town centre with it's wonderful mix of pubs, restaurants and independent shops, it really is an idyllic place to spend a weekend away from it all. A beautifully well equipped, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated cottage with the essential comforts you hope for...... comfortable beds, quality bed linen and towels, with the added bonus of a parking space on the doorstep. The log burner with it's ample supply of logs in the lounge was a plus, so too the quality toiletries in the plush, luxurious bathrooms. Much appreciated extras on arrival including milk, coffee pods for the machine, freshly baked scones, clotted cream and jam plus a welcome bottle of fizz, all went down a treat! Thank you to Tom and Catherine for our wonderful weekend away. We will definitely return.

“Beautiful cottage in the the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale”
Reviewed 22 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

We booked this delightful cottage for my mum's 50th birthday. Owners Tom and Catherine were so helpful before our visit, making suggestions of which restaurants to make reservations at and where to visit in the surrounding areas. They even left my mum a birthday card, welcome hamper and a bottle of bubbles, which we thought was a very generous gesture! The cottage itself is perfect, decorated and furnished to a very a high standard. It is a short walk to shops, restaurants and to the infamous Ruskin's View. We would definitely consider staying here again and we would recommend it to both couples and families.

Perfect position in the centre of the town, your own place to park, a very spacious and tastefully renovated cottage, everything done to a very high standard, all you would need for a self catering holiday in Kirkby Lonsdale.

“Excellent”
Reviewed 22 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Recently stayed for weekend celebration and I can not fault the cottage! It is in the perfect location for the village and the actual cottage is decorated to a high spec, with everything you could possibly need, you are greeted on arrival and shown how everything works, with a welcome pack (milk/tea/coffee etc) and as we were celebrating a 50th anniversary, we were even left a bottle of champers/card and cake.

I cant fault this place, we will certainly be back.

“Absolutely beautiful cottage and location”
Reviewed 12 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

WOW! What an utterly idyllic location and beautifully renovated cottage. My husband and I, plus two children and Grandma stayed here in August. The cottage is just gorgeous, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The owners had put up a spare bed in the twin bedroom to accommodate our extra person without quibble. Everything you could think of was provided for, including games, magazines, wood for the wood burner (I think I used every bit of wood), condiments, utensils, casserole dishes etc. The bathrooms were just gorgeous and the kids enjoyed 'swimming' in the huge oversized bath! I cannot recommend the cottage enough.

Kirkby Londsale itself is just a joy. The high street is literally 30 seconds from the cottage with an array of little shops and a wide variety of restaurants. A children's playground is within 2 minutes, as is the stream leading up to Devil's Bridge. The owners thoughtfully provide fishing nets and buckets for the children to catch sticklebacks in! A recommendation is the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail - we managed all 4 miles with a 7 & 9 year old and not one grumble. A lovely place to stop and eat on the way back is Country Harvest.
