This gate who is made in a wall who is about 2 meters wide and about 7 meters high and is from the year 1585, and this arch has a double signification for the city, to know the monumental aspect and in second place we do have his historical signification. When you enter by this gate, you are arriving at the entrance of the Alcazaba, and at the end of this street, you have the “Collegiate Church” and the “Termas Romanas.

Made for some great photos. It was a rather impressive gate. The audio guide from the Alcazaba explained the figures on the gate.

When you arrive in Antequera, you will need to ask directions to the Officina de Turismo, in the Plaza San Sebastian. We didn't find it well signposted.

You will need a map to find your way around Antequera, but it is not far, UPHILL, to the Giants' Gate, the entrance to the historic area, from where you will get great views, and photo-ops.

If your budget allows, and if you are up to steps, visit the Alcazaba Citadel.

When you get to Antequera, go to the tourist office on Plaza San Sebastian. The women working there drew me a route up to the Alcazaba and down into the town and back around churches, monuments and points of interest. If you are a walker and have stamina to walk up and down the stone paved paths and streets for an hour, I highly recommend it. The Arco de Gigantes is on that route, as is the Alcazaba and the church up at the top. You can stop somewhere down in town for tapas along the way.

There is not a lot to see here but a guide can explain what little you can see and what you would have seen years ago.
