Before visiting the east part of Vatnajökull national park you should differently make a stop at Snæfellsstofa. They have a super informative exhibition and I can say that the visitor center is a good representation of the wonderful national park. The rangers there were very friendly. When we came they had just finished a special program for kids who seemed really happy. And the most important thing: It was environmentally friendly, they recycle everything and didn't have reusable cups.
