Heard about this store and fair market mission. Stopped in alone to browse; just set up for Christmas ! Walked out spending $23 American. Made me think twice because that's more than alot of people make a day here. ..
Lovely things, made in country, reasonably priced.
Where else can you get a yeti ornament for your tree?

Thank mkgrudin

We had read about this shop in our guide book, but nothing could have prepared us for the range of wonderful goods. We are involved in Fairtrade at home, but the range of Fairtrade craft goods here put anywhere in the UK to shame.

A great shop to make your new house in Kathmandu look like home. Open 7 days a week, full of beautiful interior pieces: lamps, crockery, linen, bed covers, copper...check it our. Small parking space at the side.

Dhukuti is one of the best places to shop in Kathmandu. Unlike many other shops (ie, Thamel), all of their goods are actually made in Nepal, not imported from India. The shop offers a wide range of items, including
- metalwork (bookends, teapots, candle holders, trays)
- fabric goods (pillow covers, placemats, napkins, bedding)
- pottery
- scarves and shawls
- felted goods

Dhukuti is fair trade; because they are a fixed-price shop, their prices are usually more reasonable than other places where you need to barter.

Great souvenirs and interesting things- bags, trinkets, paper goods, jewelry, everything you could want. Good quality and reasonable prices. I bought coffee, tea, handmade notepads, brass hooks, computer bag, and coffee mugs.
