Staff are super nice and helpful. And the rates are better than fair. The rooms have been updated and are very comfortable, with a nod toward the general kitsch of the area. This is as close to luxury as you will find in this region. The accommodations are basic but clean. And you will enjoy quiet comfort after a day in the desert or canyons. The gem here is the staff - nice, polite, local, and genuine "good people". Don't expect big city accommodations and you won't be disappointed.

It is easy to miss this gem, as the outside of the hotel reflects its historic past and looks kind of like any other Route 66 hotel. But don't drive past it! If you plan to visit any area within a couple of hours of Seligman, you'll want to stay at the Canyon Lodge.

Our group had five rooms at the Canyon Lodge recently as we got ready to hike down to Havasupai Falls and Supai village. We were delighted with the rooms, each uniquely decorated for famous people, places and things. It was obvious that the owners love their piece of history, and delight in sharing it with us travelers.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms were very clean, and the management went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, including providing us with extra tiny shampoos that we could easily carry down the eight mile Supai trail.

We enjoyed our evening gathering on the 2nd floor deck over the lobby, as well as the seating areas and flowering trees at the edge of the parking lot. Their recommendation for restaurants was spot on (we ate at Westside Lalo's Cafe for every meal - great food, huge shareable portions, and engaging staff), and if you show your room key at Lalo's you even get a discount on your food.)

We will be sure to stay here again when we pass through Seligman, and would recommend it highly to anyone traveling historic Route 66 or visiting the Grand Canyon.

Room Tip: If you have a favorite type of room decoration, make that request and if they can, you will be accommodated. I don't remember all the rooms, but we had James Dean (great pictures and movie posters), and others in our party had Marilyn Monroe (great pictures and even a coffee table book), Harley Davidson, and Grand Canyon (I think). We asked for and received a 2nd floor (top floor) room, since I am a light sleeper and prefer not hearing people walk on the floor above me; that said, those in our party who had 1st floor rooms had no complaints about noise.

If you are planning a trip to the Grand Canyon, this is a good place to stop for the night. Clean, comfortable and friendly. I will be visiting this place again.

Room Tip: The Elvis room had a very comfortable bed.

We came across the Canyon Lodge motel while exploring a short length of Route 66. The rooms are all themed, we choose the Elvis room and the two girls choose the Marilyn Monroe room, they were great, especially the Marilyn Monroe room that suited my two girls down to the ground. We were recommended the Westside Lalo's Cafe back down the road a little for our evening meal and that was great, real atmosphere, good food and service. The motel breakfast room is sadly minute with hardly room for two to sit down, none the less there was all we wanted. Over the road from the motel is the Rusty Bolt store were Angel, guardian of Route 66 resides, go over and see him, he’s a real nice guy and your sure to find something in his store. There’s no doubt Seligman, Canyon Lodge, and this short piece of Route 66 was one of the highlights of our trip.
Many thanks to the man on reception; he showed us all the themed rooms that were unoccupied, a really nice guy!
