“Second stay at Southwest Inn - still great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2012

I visited Sedona a year ago and stayed at the Southwest Inn (see previous review). This time, I brought my family and we stayed for 4 nights. You know how sometimes you remember something either better or worst than it actually is? The Southwest Inn is a great place to stay. It is priced well - and we were upgraded to suites which was extra nice. The Inn is located right where you'll be hiking - most of the trails start somewhere off of Dry Creek Road. The Inn is close enough you can walk there (if you're a seasoned hiker) or it is a very short drive to the trails. If you stay in town - it is not as convenient to the hikes. Plus - parking is easy, in and out of the parking lot is easy and the rooms are large, comfortable - and the inn is right on the edge of a vortex. Take that with whatever you think but it gives a calm feeling to the location. Also, guests can use the breakfast room (+ microwave) anytime the office is open (until 9pm) - paper plates and utensils included. When you eat out all the time, there are left-overs and it's nice to be able to reheat. The rooms have powerstrips (yea!) for all of our phones/PDAs/computers, free wifi, refrigerators and the front desk is very helpful on hikes, restaurants, etc. So - highly recommended the 2nd time around!

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms have better views. Bring swimsuit for hot tub (even in winter). Back of the property...

Large room, nice fireplace and balcony, very comfortable bed with great pillows. It is located west of downtown; you're going to have to drive if you want to explore there. We walked across the road to a restaurant called Legacy (good, but dated) and skipped breakfast in favor of a Starbuck's latte before continuing our journey.

This place is great. The room had an over sized jet tub that fit us both just fine. The room was pretty and done in a southwest style with a very nice beehive gas fireplace with we used the entire time we were there. The bed was great plenty of pillows. The bathroom was great, very big with a tub and separate shower.. I liked the fact that the towels were a nice tan color instead of the standard white and there were plenty of them. They also provide nice fluffy bathrobes and my girlfriend really liked the high end soap, it was a Tuscan blood orange smell. Very nice.
The staff was very friendly and helped suggest a restaurant. The continental breakfast area had plenty of options including waffles. The breakfast room was upstairs and had a great view of Sedona`s red rock mountains and was done in a very homey southwest style with log beam chairs. They also have a small exercise room and a computer lab with 2 computers besides the fact that they have wifi available.

Very noisy rooms on busy street, front desk person was rude and insulting, too far from shopping, dining and all Sedona has to offer.
