Location was perfect.
Build in the 40's. Artistic and uniquem
Not kept up well but so much charm you kind of let it go.
Everything you needed was there - albeit tired and worn. Zero staff on site at any time. Zero services - you are on your own...which can also very nice. Lots of privacy and serenity.
We booked the "Healing Garden Room" at the Sedona House of healing. We had some difficulty finding the place. It is in a quiet upscale residential area in West Sedona near the airport. In fact, the sign at the driveway entrance will say "Saddleback Ranch" and is set back from the main road making it difficult to see. Our room had a dark wooden floor and dark wooden ceiling, so it was a bit dark overall despite the fact that it had three large windows. There really is no kitchenette as such in this room, just a microwave, small fridge and two burner hot plate on a tile counter. There is also silverware, a knife, a cutting board, two plates, bowls, cups, glasses and wine glasses, plus a frying pan and a spatula as well as a coffee maker with coffee filters. No dish soap or dish towels. No separate kitchen sink, either, so we had to do dishes in the bathroom sink. We mostly bought microwavable dishes or went out for meals.
The heating system came on the second night we where there and we had no way of turning that off, since it is centralized, and someone upstairs turned it on and then our room as well as the room next door to us (the artist's retreat room) get heated as well. The owner is going to have that fixed later on this month, so this should no longer be a problem in the future.
We used the hot tub and it was very nice. It was too cold to use the pool. The vistas from the pool deck are very nice.
The location in West Sedona is great if you want to get away from the all the tourists down on main street. Also, lots of nice restaurants and easy access to many hiking trailheads. Some of the rougher forest service roads may require a high clearance vehicle, but that can be rented downtown.
Wifi is available on the premises. A laundromat is available in West Sedona.
The rooms are, well, rustic, but if you're looking for a funky, artsy Sedona experience, a heated pool and jacuzzi, outdoor fire pit, quick access to dining/shopping, and a vortex hiking trail right in your backyard... Look no further! The owner even hosted a spiritual art class for us (costs extra). You'll enjoy it!
We had a girl's bday retreat wknd and stayed in the Healing Room and Artist Room- it was a wonderful time. The property is beautiful- loved lounging by the pool and seeing the red rocks in the distance. The jacuzzi was also available 24/7 for us to stare up at the beautiful night sky and it was just a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city-life. Will definitely come back!
