While a more well-known beach resort a few miles away boasts the "most expensive hotel rooms in Ghana" (over $1000 US dollars per night), this quiet little resort has the same white sands and ocean views for far less money (I paid about $25 US dollars for one night). Currently, your stay should be very peaceful. Not promoted by the most popular Ghana guidebook, nearby Senya doesn't rank high on the tourist map. I was the only overnight guest when I stayed.

The room was comfortable, cooled by a pair of fans.... and actually had electricity working the entire time, which is truly unusual for the country. The resort has a backup generator to compensate for the frequent blackouts. Running water and a working shower are huge advantages, and the bed was quite comfortable. The television even had 2-3 channels that worked.

There is a playground area for kids, but the real highlight of the resort are the white sands and beautiful surf. And lots of peace! You will see local villagers walk by to and from work in Senya, a pleasant 45 minute walk.

The on site restaurant serves quality food at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the chicken kabobs, spicy and flavorful. The people who run the resort are very friendly and helpful.

Of the places I stayed in Ghana, this was by far the best. It's a shame that so few stay here, but the location is uncommon and remote... and self-promotion doesn't seem to be taking place to a high degree.

PROS: This beach resort is about a 1.5 hrs from Accra, barring crazy traffic. The grounds are expansive and well maintained, including the beach area. There is not too much outside foot traffic down the beach except or people in local fishing villages. The rooms are newly redone, clean, and comfortable. The service is a step up from other Ghana beach resorts.

CONS: Can't think of a thing. There are TVs in the room which frankly I could do without and wish they wouldn't waste money on but I suppose others would call this a PRO.

OTHER: The price and food are comparable to what you expect/get at other beach resorts.

IN SUMMARY: I highly recommend this place - the owner/owner's daughter seems to really care and take pride in the resort and promotes good service from the staff. The beach view is spectacular no matter where you stay as the grounds slowly slope upward and cabins are spaced out.
