“Nice little place in the desert.”
Reviewed 6 June 2012 via mobile

The resort was very nice aesthetically. The pool was fun for the kids and the slide was great as there wasn't much of a line. Downside was the staff, we were told in the front office that we could bring coolers into the pool area and then were asked to take them back to the room by other staff. Also there were other coolers out that remained the entire time. The rooms were very nice, but seemed like the walls were thin.

The wife and I just spent 7 nights in a Phase I 1st floor handicapped unit. Although the unit was clean and comfortable, the walls and ceiling are not soundproof by any stretch of the imagination! For the 1st few nights, there was a family above us with a constantly running toddler and a mother pacing back and forth with her baby. The sounds typically lasted until 12:30am and calls to the front desk informed us that they would have security knock on the door. I don't know if security ever knocked, but the noise never stopped. Added to the above, were the neighboring party couple, whose voices were easy to hear thru the walls. The last few days brought us another young family overhead, and yes, they also had an energetic toddler.
We understood that each unit had a dvd player, however you have to ask for it. Per the manager, people were constantly stealing the players so he pulled them all and you have to ask. In addition, the kitchen was not very well stocked with cooking items.
And, let's not forget that, if you don't bring your own wi-fi capable computer, you'll be paying $.35 PER MINUTE to use one of their computers in the lobby. Oh, there is the concierge, however they seem more interested in getting you to sign up for an owner update (selling you more points) than in providing you any discounts. We used both our Entertainment access and AAA which got us numerous discounts! The best they did was to give us the movie times for the theaters in town.
As there were record temperatures during our visit, we only made it to the pool late in our visit, and early in the morning (we were the only ones at the pool for a while). That allowed us a nice, quiet time without being burnt or fried! :)
The Monday evening Indian Jewelry dealer is pleasant and gives you a 40% discount, but beware, you are still getting Scalped!!!
All-in-all, I was rather disappointed and would rather find a different place to stay if I'm ever back in the area.
Good luck... Perhaps Phase II is better... I don't know.

Room Tip: Stay in a penthouse unit!!!

Those who have compared this resort unfavorably to the point of it being rated less than motels have made a serious mistake! Cibola Vista is a nice place to stay.

True, it is not in the heart of the Phoneix metro, but to my way of thinking, that is a plus rather than a minus. And, with the 303 Freeway accessible just two and a half miles away, getting anywhere in that metro is now really pretty easy.

The units are comfortable and spacious - the pools are very nice, the staff is friendly, and the area now has everything you need near by. I appreciated the fact that the concierge took my no at face value when I said that I was not interested in their sales pitch, regardless of what freebies they were offering. (I was amazed and gratified that they didn't call the room and try again - thank you Cibola Vista!)

I would have no problem staying here again, and will certainly refer family and friends whenever appropriate.

My sister is an owner at the resort and we have done day visits to the pool several times with her. Each time we spend the day there we all regret it. They do not allow you to bring food and drinks in but it took about an hour to find out they didn't have what we ordered and they ran out of forks! There were no clean pool towels so my 8 month old twins were freezing and wet. The bathroom was discusting with one toilet out if order, one door broken and overflowing trash cans. I would not recommend staying here, there are so many other nice resorts to choose from.

Location of this resort is not ideal. However, it is a very nice resort with a very nice and friendly staff to assist you. There is a cafe at the resort but it does not open until 11 am. Therefore, no breakfast. You have to drive from the resort to go to a restaurant. None within walking distance. We were given a list of restaurants and a map showing where they were. Some of them offered discounts to people staying at the resort. We had a balcony unit on the 2nd floor with a nice view. The room had a nice size kitchen (oven, microwave, refrig) and it was stocked. There was a kitchen counter and a dining table with a nice rug under the dining table. The rooms were nicely furnished. There was a fireplace, 2 tv's (one in living room area and one in bedroom), comfy bed and pillows, a jacuzzi tub, shower, and two separate areas with sinks. The decorations were also nice. We ordered room service and it was quick and the food was good. You have to order before 7 pm because the cafe closes at 7. In the resort book in your room no menu was included. There should be a menu in the resort book. As for the shower ..... this was strange. There was no place to put your soap or shampoo. You had to drop them on the floor and bend over to pick them up. Very inconvenient. Never seen that before. Also, the water took FOREVER to get hot ..... not a "green" feature.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the hot sun
