We stayed in the Oriental Room one night. It was a fairly comfortable bed (twins put together as a king). The bathroom could use some deep cleaning/ updating as there were dirt spots on the door. Hot water took a while to appear--maybe it is an on-demand water heater? Breakfast was superb with a regional twist ( prickly pear syrup and mesquite flour pancakes)! Our host was very accommodating and told us about the bird life in the environs. The main attraction of this rustic b and b is the peaceful setting and, if you're a birder, the abundant bird life, both on the premises (outdoor patio was very comfortable for humans and inviting for birds) and at nearby Patagonia Lake State Park and the Sonoita Creek Nature Preserve and Paton's home.

Room Tip: The Oriental Room was comfortable

Beautiful, peaceful spot at renovated old ranch house with lots of interesting decor. Saw 31 bird species sitting on patio for few hours. Tom is a friendly, knowledgeable host who serves unique and delicious breakfasts any time we want them. I'm eager to return!

My wife and I spent an all too brief one night stay here and had one of the loveliest weekend getaways we can remember. There are a couple negative reviews, don't let that scare you away. This is a lovely old rustic inn, complete with the occasional squeaky floor and miscellaneous quirks that go with an 80+ year old Arizona Ranch House. We found it to be completely charming. There are antiques throughout and all is very nicely decorated. Make sure to have Mary Jane or Tom show off the fabulous music boxes. Mary Jane was a wonderful hostess, taking time to show us around the barn and horses and all of the other features of the property. Mary Jane assures us that July and August are quite pleasant and we plan to return then to see the landscape when the trees are leafed out and the grass is green. Thanks for a wonderful time.

We stayed four nights at the Spirit Tree Inn, a ranch-style compound located in the desert near Patagonia, AZ (nearest airport is Tucson) - the innkeepers, Mary Jane and Tom, went out of their way to make us feel at home with special breakfasts, and logs and kindling for a fire in the big stone fireplace. We pretty much had the run of the place (party of 4) and were able to invite some friends over. We are musicians and were able to play to our hearts' content in the large main room. Local places of interest include the San Rafael grasslands and some ghost towns, as well as Nogales, Mexico which is very tourist-friendly. But mainly, it's a region of great natural beauty and warm weather. I highly recommend the Spirit Tree Inn.

Room Tip: The Library! They're all nice, comfy, homey, and all rooms have bath/shower. There are two casitas on the grounds also.

When we first got there Tom was very friendly. We went into town and saw our family and their friends then came back. Around 10 or 11 I went out into the kitchen to find the trash and the whole kitchen was flooded. We found a way to turn off the water under the sink and cleaned up most of the water on the floor. When we finally got ahold of our host it took several minutes for them to show up. When they finally did they were extremely rude to us. When we woke up they were also being rude about making us breakfast. So we left without eating. Our bathroom was so small you couldnt even use it and still close the door. It was a horrible experience. I would definately not recommend it!!!!!!

Room Tip: Just dont choose one. Especially Equine Room!
