We stayed at Lucia's with our three teenage kids for 3 nights in the 2 over the water ensuite fales.
What can I say... The view from the deck is stunning. We enjoyed the fact that it was covered so you can sit outside reading and watching the tide go in and out all day without too much risk of getting sunburned.
The kids loved jumping off the deck into the water, but I have to admit, a beach would have finished it off.
The chalets were tidy, and unlike a previous review, we were asked if we wanted the rooms cleaned after 2 nights. Staff in general were very friendly and helpful and we especially enjoyed Tui's company.
It is indeed a good idea to take some insect repellant, as you are really close to the water and mozzies seem to come out at night. Saying that, the restaurant is taking plenty of measures as well.
We didn't experience it ourselves, but were told by fellow travellers that the Samoan massage is highly recommended.
Food was really very nice, the nicest we had in Samoa. We highly recommend the prawns in coconut cream. :-)

Room Tip: book well in advance if you want the ensuite over the water chalets. They are very popular!!!!

Staying at Lusia's was a complete antidote to sterility of tourist hotels and one of the most enchanting and delightful memories of the trip to Savaii. Excellent hospitality not least by Lusia herself and very attentive staff. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was really very good, fresh and beautifully presented. Chalets were basic but comfortable and swimming delightful. Thoroughly recommended... unless you like sterile tourist hotels.

7 of us stayed one night here after traveling over from Upolo on the ferry. What a magical place to stay!!! Cute little fale's over the water. Wonderful swimming - able to jump in from deck into the deep warm waters. So much fun!!! Breakfast was included in the price and you could choose what you wanted off the menu. Very nice!!! Dinner was great too with reasonable prices for amazing fresh seafood!!! Wish we could have stayed another night for more swimming and to make use of the kayaks. Would love to go back. if you want 5 Star western style accomodation & food then probably not the place for you. If you want something different and fun, check this place out!

We stayed in one of the less expensive chalets on stilts over the lagoon. We could swim in a crystal clear mix of spring water and sea water from our bottom step and the shared toilet and shower facilities were clean and close by. The sandy well-kept paths in the rainforest were well-lit at night. The restaurant had reasonable prices for excellent food including authentic Samoan dishes. Lusia and her staff tended to all our needs and were very friendly. Will return.

I didn't plan to stay in Salelologa, the village didn't seem very attractive to me. But I had the good idea to stay one night in Lusia's Lagoon Chalets. It was cheap and I was not disappointed at all! I had a very nice over-the-lagoon chalet, I could swim just at 2m of my room in the turquoise sea... the staff was very friendly too. A very nice place :)
