This is the perfect hotel to relax and enjoy nature. Staff is always nice and rooms are spacious and warm. It is a good place to have a good time knowingly that you can always go to the city center with the hotel van. Would definitely recommend.

Nice hotel situated a little ways out of town, but the hotel's shuttle service is very efficient and right on time. Location is great, right on the Beagle Canal which you can access through a long wooden staircase (some steps are missing but we went any way and it was well worth it: lots of wild birds along the stony beach). Breakfast is decent, not great: cold buffet with too many sweets. Free, fast WIFI in the room. Bedrooms are a bit dated but still pleasant with comfortable beds and large windows. The only problem is insulation: the pretty iron bed frames are screwed to the wall at one point only: hence they are not stable and bang on the wall when you move in bed... So, if you happen to have "very active" neighbors (which was our case on the 1st night), you literally will hear their bed banging against the wall all night long ;-)
This problem could be easily solved by attaching the frame in several places, making sure it doesn't move...
The 2nd night, we made sure to check all the rooms ;-) and moved to the quietest one, the last one on the top floor facing the canal...
Staff here is wonderful, friendly and helpful. I found a box of delicious local chocolates in my room for my birthday!!!
This hotel is often full as it is used by airlines staff.
So, all in all, we recommend this rustic and comfortable hotel with the greatest staff ever!

Room Tip: The quietest room is the last one on the top floor facing the canal...

We stayed here 3 nights, and found it to be a great hotel. Service was very good, we ate twice in their restaurant and the food was very tasty, we loved the pasta and fish. The shuttle service was reliable, even if their last trip from town was at 8:30 pm. I recommend this hotel. Consider that it is a 3 1/2 star hotel.

This hotel is rustic and has a very helpful and very nice front desk staff...but it is located 15 minutes from the town center a long a very dusty un paved road. They have a Bar, but it does not open till 8 pm. They do have a shuttle to the city center...but the last run is at 8 pm. There were these Ibis birds in front of the hotel...a bonus. The hotel has no elevator and the rooms were hot.

Stayed here 2 nights as part of and prior to our Antarctica cruise with Quark Expeditions. This rustic wooden hotel was a bit far (6 km) from Ushuaia downtown but they provided free shuttle (didn't get to use it). Room and bathroom were of old stye but spacious and clean. Breakfast and dinner were nothing to complain or brag about.
What we liked most was that from the backyard of the dining room we could take the wooden stairs down followed by a short walk through the lush vegetation to the pebble and rocky beach of the Beagle Channel with lovely view of the water, enclosing snow-patched mountains and colourful homes in the valley. Saw many birds and wild flowers. It was an enjoyable late afternoon stroll with great photo opportunities.
It looked like this hotel was targeting cruise passengers more because their rates for regular clients were less competitive compared to hotels in downtown Ushuaia. Nevertheless, we had an enjoyable stay (Jan. 2 years back).
Incidentally found a friendly, helpful and fun taxi driver with a little English named Jose Garcia when he was dropping passengers to the hotel. We ended up using his service for the whole time (4 days), before and after the cruise, visiting Tierra Del Fuego National Park (World Heritage Site) and Estancia Harberton. He also took us back to the airport. You can contact Jose through email arregarcia@gmail.com or call him at +54 2901 15604563.
