Although the hotel is 30 mins walk from town and breakfast...simple, we really liked the log cabin and the space in it. It is also well heated and decorated. However, we think that the cabin is a bit old and needs refurbishing especially cracked wash basins and the utensils are also not washed properly eg. pot

Overall the apartments are quaint and make you feel like you really are in Patagonia. The kitchen is a real bonus to make tea, coffee or for stopping at the grocery store and picking up items to make your own meals. I have arthritis and the beds were very comfortable for sleeping for me. The staff was a definite plus because they were so helpful. We don't speak Spanish and they were very helpful and patient with us to make sure we got the most out of our trip.

The large apartments have a full kitchen and view of the lake from the second story. The apartments are very reasonable priced for the area. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. The outside grounds are beautiful with shrubs and flowers. There is a resident friendly cat. You might hear a rooster in the morning from the next door neighbors.

We had rented a car so going downtown was not an issue. If you don't have a car you can walk about 15 minutes to downtown or the staff will call a taxi. The hotel is on the outskirts of town. You do get a view of the lake from the second story.

The place is quirky/quaint which does make it feel like you are in Patagonia. The breakfast is enough to get you started for the day. Keep in mind that in Argentina the breakfast is "light" and this breakfast was very similar to other more expensive hotels we stayed at. You get one slice of ham and cheese per person, lots of pastry items, lots of bread for toast and a large bowl of cereal, milk and juice. The apartment comes with a full kitchen and there are several grocery stores in town and if you are like us and need that large American breakfast you can buy more items like eggs and cook them in the kitchen.

They also offer an inexpensive box lunch that you can order the day before and take with you the next day which we found very helpful since we were going to see the glacier. The lunch box has a large ham and cheese sandwich, energy bars, apple and several snack items. We ordered two lunches and ended up sharing one and saving our other lunch box for the next day. Lunch is the big meal of the day in Argentina and one lunch box could easily be enough for two people. We went into town for dinner and did not use the on-site restaurant but the menu looked good.

We were in #4 for two days and then when we returned we were in #7. Like other reviews the heaters are a little funky and we asked the staff about the heaters and they came to our apartment and showed us how to use them which was helpful so we could adjust the temperature. Even in summer, the nights are cool and having the heat on was helpful.

Like other reviews, the #4 apartment had a nail in the bathroom door hinge and #7 which had two bedrooms with one bedroom where the beds were not made up. We slept in the bedroom which had the bed made. I am not sure if the beds that were not made was because we had reserved one room and they put us in a two room apartment, but something to check on if you stay here, is to check the beds and ask the staff to show you how to use the heaters.

As far as price, the apartments are very reasonable for the area. The staff was very helpful to let us know about the VAT and how to get it back when leaving. We didn't get any help about VAT information from the other places we stayed during our trip, so the help was unexpected and very much appreciated.

If you need a modern hotel room setting this probably isn't the place for you, but if you want a place where you feel like you were staying at a friend's home, then this might be the place for you.

Room Tip: Ask for an apartment if you want a view of the lake. The cabins don't look like they have a view.

The accommodations are quaint and have all that one would need, including coffee maker, plates, silverware, kettle, with a full little kitchen. The cabin feel is so comfy. The guest services were very friendly and accommodating!

I would not recommend this place. The cabins smelt stale, gas heaters with no sign of C02 monitors.
Beds were uncomfortable, breakfast served to room the night before not a lot of choice. Do not use GPS to get here as it doesn’t work!! Rang receptionist who couldn’t tell us how to get to the place, we were less than 4 minutes away!!
Did have a view of lake.
