We had dinner at Las Balsas and there is no doubt about it that it was the best we had while staying in Villa la Angostura.
If you want some fine cuisine and something different than your asado, ojo de bife or the (mostly over-cooked) trucha, this is the place to go.
All the courses were really well prepared, well seasoned and a great joy to look at and to eat. Service was attentive and outstanding and we really appreciated the recommendation of Gimena, the sommeliere. Thank you for a great dinner!

One of the best restaurants in the area. Very clever chef, and gentle staff. A fair cellar plant of local quality wines

The title says it all really...The octopus in my wife's starter was carbonised (i do not exagerate) and i nearly broke a tooth on pistacho nut shell which somehow found its way into my carpaccio (which by the way wasn't a carpaccio since the meat was cooked)
When we mentioned this to the waitress she said she'd get back to us but never did.
The waitress also popped the champagne and said she wouldn't open the red wine because it woud oxygenate...Feel free to draw your own conclusions...
The coulant de chocolat was really a simple moelleux and the coffee we ordered was a sad affair since it came without any accompaniment (am i wrong to expect something more from a relais & chateaux establishment?) Overall, a disappointing experience..

Without doubt the best food we had in Argentina. A complex series of dishes - nothing too haute-cuisine, but definitely not the usual meat / pastry / pizza / pasta diet insisted upon elsewhere. Fresh, wonderfully cooked and with an exceptional range of flavours. Showy but not pretentious.

Very good food that sometimes is a bit too complicated (less is more).
Dishes are very well executed.
Try the deer carpaccio which is excellent.
Service is great.
The restaurant is beautiful directly located at the lake. Breathtaking view included.
