Hosteria Gardeno was a low point in our South American accommodation. Our room was one of several located just off the dining room. The room itself was pretty small and the bed compact but these things would have been OK had there been any peace and quiet during the night. The compact design of the hosteria meant we got to hear the staff's extended conversations with the guests who arrived at midnight. Equally annoying was the hosteria's door buzzer - seemly located such that guests got woken when anyone wants to enter the property. To add to the joy, something in the hall outside our room sounding like an alarm panel beeped incessantly for much of the night. There also seems to be an issue with water pressure – to get the shower to run at anything beyond a trickle I had to flush the toilet. This seemed to trigger a booster pump into action. Compared with other places we stayed in Argentina, Chile and Peru Hosteria Gardeno was overpriced for what it was. To be fair the staff were nice enough and the breakfast reasonable with the notable exception of the coffee which was undrinkable - exactly what you don't need after such a poor night's sleep. Our recommendation - avoid this place.

This is a very pleasant Hosteria in La Pampa street. Need to take a taxi from the Bus Terminal.Fabulous gardens. Comfortable room. Pretty salon where to have breakfast.
We arrived around 7:30 in the morning. We were well received by Celia who offered to keep our luggage. Check in was at 2pm so we were offered a place to shower and change in another building. We were then able to go out and explore for a few hours before check in time. As we were there just one night and leaving before six in the morning we had breakfast on arrival rather than the following morning.

Room Tip: They are all good.
