Not a bad place the staff are helpful and friendly but lack experience or direction. It takes a long while to get served and you're never sure if you're going to get what you ordered. The hotel itself does a reasonable breakfast buffet and dinner buffet. The hotel is located 30 minutes drive from the Argentinian side of the falls.
The rooms are en-suite and spacious. Each room has a balcony with sufficient room for two deck chairs and a small table.
I'd stay here again as for a few days you can put up with the shortcomings because the staff really do try.

Room Tip: Hotels on the front of the hotel have a marginally better view than those at the rear

We stayed here in March 2018 for 3 nights. Our room 333 was very large and at first we were pleased. However the view from the window was the unfinished roof of a bus station. When we got into bed we realised there were no bedside lights and the air conditioning was making an awful noise and there was no thermostat to turn it down so we had to turn it off and get hot. On closer inspection the room needed a lot of TLC - there was a blind missing and glass was cracked in the window and mirror. On a plus side the bed and pillows were comfortable.
We spoke to the reception desk and they did send up two bedside lights but nothing was done about the air conditioning and we asked twice. So for 3 nights we sweltered as it was impossible to sleep with the noise the air conditioning made.
There was also a cupboard for a fridge but there was no fridge.
To get a drink one needed to pay cash or credit card but better to go to reception and add your credit card to the room number.
We had a buffet on the first night which was adequate but I did not eat the bread as there was a fly on it. Breakfast too was a buffet. There was plenty of choice but the toaster barely browned the bread.

Room Tip: Ask for balcony and thermostat for air conditioning.

We stayed for two nights at the Grand Crucero in January 2018. Being an active traveller, I look for three major qualities in a hotel. Firstly, customer service and the initial welcoming you receive; secondly, a reasonable standard hotel with good sleeping and bathroom facilities; and thirdly value for money. This hotel delivers in all three. In particular - customer service.

After an eventful baggage strike and plane trip from Buenos Aires to Iguazu that resulted in our luggage (and many others) being lost, one of the Grand Crucero's staff members, Alexis Lopez (who is fluent in both Spanish and English) took it upon himself to assist us. Alexis persistently called the airline until our baggage was located and ensured it was delivered to us prior to our departure to our next location. Alexis is a gem: calm, in control and kept us constantly abreast of his communications with the airline. His bi-lingual and customer service skills are exceptional and we knew he wasn't going to give up on this challenge. This is a rare competency in an individual in the hospitality industry and one that we, as a family, appreciated immensely.

Our room was large and able to accommodate 3 people with ease. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure from the shower was great. We used the hotel's driver/vehicle service to get to the Falls and back. This was a great decision and our driver was entertaining and accommodating. The food was average.

We stayed just a single night at the Grand Crucero so we could visit the nearby Iguazu Falls. We were welcomed effusively and the room was extremely comfortable. The bar food was just slightly disappointing but the breakfast was magnificent. We didn't think there was much else to do in Puerto Iguazu but, if you're visiting the falls for a day or two, this would be a very suitable base.

Might be good value for the cost, but the hotel require massive renovation, location has nothing special (Falls or city) . If you go, try to ask for the big rooms, they are really BIG !!! Breakfast was very average
