Whilst staying in Puerto Iguazu we decided to venture outside the hotel for a restaurant and foundBoutique Hotel de la Fonte. We booked for eight people and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was good with a warm welcome from very polite waiters ready to tend our needs.
We chose various dishes from steak to pastas and all was well presented on various plates according to the meal. We had several bottles of wine at reasonable prises for such an elegant restaurant and along with the meal we paid an average of £55-£65 per couple and were able to pay by card local currency or US Dollars.
If you go take a note of the cutlery, I have never seen anything like it and am in touch withe owners to try and purchase.

I am going be straight to the point. If you are a back packer then you really don't need to read any further. We have stayed in this hotel ( if you can called a hotel) for 2 nights part of our visit to Iguazu fall. We liked what we saw on online photos. I am afraid the reality was far from what we have expected. The bedroom that we have given so mouldy. smell and full with mosquito.( Yes I know we are in the jungle) but the anti mosquito device was broken so we have to cal the reception to come and spray the whole room. The swimming pool and open areas yes they look fantastic in the photos but trust me they were disgrace. I have included some photos to proof my point. the breakfast was absolutely a joke- any prisoner will get a better one in prison. see photo for proof. There are much better and more decent hotels a round so please don't be fool by the marketing photos as we did. the only positive thing about this place was staff - they were friendly. As I mentioned earlier. If you are planning to stay in this hotel as backpacker then you might like. I definitely wont recommend this to anyone

Room Tip: Just don't book in this hotel

Thank you so much for your opinion.
We will take into account your kind suggestion, about the mosquitoes, that surely the hotel, must deliverately place in the rooms, that they leave their doors open.
On the other hand, the content of breakfast, to be understood consists of:
Yogurt, cereals, fruits, honey, bread lactal, croissants, focaccia (Italian bread), orange juice, seasonal fruits such as papaya and melon and pineapple, espresso coffee, cheese, ham and can toast the bread portions, who wants . As if that were not enough, breakfast is served on a table to the table by a waiter, who is available to all guests, for what they like. As if it were, little, different kinds of eggs are served, scrambled, or in omelet when they request it in the service. It must be one of the few establishments, offering, breakfasts with personalized attention.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to describe our service.

This is a great little oasis in Iguazu.
Unless you're going to spend major $$$ for the one hotel inside Iguazu park, every other hotel is going to be located outside the park, in town. And since there's really nothing much at all to do in town, aside from the wonderful Guira Oga (and not much to do outside town either, the falls aside, since ecotours for the rainforest are very scarce), I wanted a place that was relaxing and self-contained. Hotel de la Fonte fit the bill. It's a quiet oasis, with several pools, hammocks, and rooms with blissfully powerful air conditioning. It's a short walk to the bus stop to get to the falls and a short walk to the 3 frontiers. Friendly, English-speaking staff. The rooms aren't super modern, but they're clean and comfortable and overall it's a great value.
However, my favorite thing about it was the restaurant. Truly wonderful, creative food, incredible service--Fabio was fantastic--a great wine selection, vegetarian options, and really lovely desserts. In NYC the same restaurant would easily cost 3 times as much. We went every night and weren't disappointed.

The hotel is well located for walking to the Tres Fronteras border and is a tranquil spot. Lovely to spend some time by the pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful with taxis and advice on the falls. Laundry is also very reasonably priced by the bag rather than by each item. The restaurant is the big selling point. We rarely eat in hotels in which we stay as we like to go out. But this place is an exception. The food is really fantastic and not expensive for the high quality. The only negative was the quality of the room furnishings. Our room was a little tired. The mattress sank a bit towards the middle, the pillows are a bit old, the bedding a bit tired looking and the home made nature of doors and fittings are not necessarily very serviceable -(The bathroom door of our room kept coming off its track). It was also hard to find power points with sufficient strength to hold the plug in. These things are easily fixed, and I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: All the rooms appear to be well located for peace and quiet.

Friendly, professional staff; unique grounds/property; great food onsite, although very expensive compared to other local restaurants. Central location made it easy to walk or take a short taxi ride to sites.
