Incredible food and service. Beverages are quite expensive, the food not so much because of the size of the portions, which are BIG so sharing is advised. You cannot be in the area and not eat here, IS A MUST (if you are not on a very tight budget, of course)

This small, family run restaurant never fails, it's quite small so reservations are a must.
We were there on a Friday night at the start of Oktoberfest but we managed to get a table.
We had mushroom bruschetta and rib eye steak, deliciously cooked, it melted in your mouth.
Sergio and his team keep standards high.
Extensive wine list and nice home made desserts.
Portions are large so sharing is advised if you want to sample their desserts.
Wine list is extensive with local wines available although we stuck to more traditional Malbec brands.
Bill for two, sharing main course with an above average wine was about US $ 50.
Cheap by UK standards but expensive for Argentina.
La Vaquita sells gourmet take away food and has a good delicatessen counter.
Worth the price, beware it's cash only so bring plenty of dough.
Highly recommended.

Good cuisine but overpriced bearing in mind it is a cash only operation. Wines are a little overpriced, especially those of nearby vineyards where the quality leaves a lot to be desired.
Reservations essential as there are few tables inside.
It is not as good as it was. It needs to reduce prices.

I visited this little gem again and standards haven't dropped. It's now high season and lots of tourists around. We had flan casero for desert and it was one of the best ever. All food is cooked from scratch and fresh. The taste is excellent. It's obvious that the owner loves to cook and it shows. Opens from Wednesday to Sunday. As it was Summer we sat under the trees and enjoyed the greenery around.
On the road to Yacanto, it could be easily missed but please do look out for it and you'll have a wonderful culinary experience in the middle of the countryside.

Alongside the road to Yacanto about 10 minute drive from the centre of Santa Rosa, in Santa Monica is this lovely place where everything is hand made. There is also a delicatessen shop attached to the restaurant well stock with gourmet foods and local olive oils and more. Their empanadas are superb. In fact from the home made bread to the pastas to the selective wine list there was nothing I could find wrong.
I understand the restaurant is only open at weekends. Many well heeled locals arrive to use their take away service. We sat outside underneath lovely trees and watched a variety of birds chirping away in the warm Spring like air. We will certainly visit again
