We wanted to see a tango show and our guide recommended this one, great that there was a pick up and return included in the price. On arrival, circa 7.30pm, we were shown into a ballroom along with many others , however nobody seemed to be able to explain the format for the evening, however it gradually unravelled, within this room came a professional tango couple who were trying to teach you the basic tango steps, not my scene, however the theatre room opposite then opened, we had a three choice menu, the food was adequate , though tepid, cold plates did not help, the beer, wine was complimentary, but not the best vintage. The show, our reason for going, started at 10pm, very very good, we left about 11.30pm. So could have been a great evening, but was good.

Pick up and drop off a bit hectic. 3 course meal was reasonable and a bottle of rather mediocre wine was included. The show was built around 3 pillars, the dance, the songs and the pumping, soothing, very emotional to diabolic sound of the Tango Nuevo. All this for 99 USD. Not all the places in the old theatre offer the best views, but overall a good experience.

The venue is stunning and a joy to be sitting in... It all adds to the special ambience created as this is an historic tango venue where the tango elite have performed. First off we had the tango lesson which was fun and the teachers were the dancers from the show. The food was very good and you can have as much wine as you want which was a bonus as we had two bottles!

Then there is the show itself which had me spell bound. The 5 piece tango band was excellent, the male and female singers equally as good and the dancers, well they were absolutely fantastic. The passion, costumes, leg work and expression will stay with me for a long time.

Additionally we were collected and returned to our hotel in a mini bus and had our photos taken with the dancers who took our lesson so a nice memory to take away as you have the backdrop of the venue in the photo too (photo was 250 pesos).

Well worth the money. I didn't want the night to end, which I think says it all.

The show was ok, but they didn't give any history about the songs or the dancing or the instruments. We didn't eat the dinner but at our neighboring table they said it wasn't very good. The wine was awful - the only bad wine I had in 10 days there.

Saw the show with fellow crew and a local.. was very good. You could have had dinner first. We just came for the show and had wine.. worthwhile experience as i had never been to such a production at a restaurant before.
