“Better than 5 star”
Reviewed 5 December 2011

I traveled in south America for 2months ..a wonderful experience . I started and ended my trip at Ariels "home "...and he knows the meaning of Hospitality . Some of the so called 4/5 star hotels I stayed at in other places should spend some time with Ariel and learn few lessons about how to look after customers

Ariel and his staff give a full service ...advise on local transport .airport transfers ,banks, restaurants and organised a terrific day at a football match . He even arranged alternative accommodation for me for one night when he had a full house

The rooms are clean and functional . the breakfast is just right

It is located conveniently away from the bustle but close enough to good restaurants and buses

you wouldnt stay any where else!

Room Tip: The rooms towards back of house is preferred

We stayed here for 2 nights upon our arrival to Argentina and Buenos Aires. Palermo Viejo felt very safe (entry and locks all very secure) and we were comfortable here. We stayed in a standard room (the red one), and although it was rather small, the bed was extremely comfortable, the shower worked well, there was a safe inside the room, and we had use of a mini fridge and there was also a TV. We had WIFI and it worked the whole time. Although we were near the front of the house, the room was still quiet and we had two really good night's sleep.

Palermo Viejo is in a great location, in easy walking distance to Palermo and some great bars and restaurants. Only round the corner was La Cabrera parrilla and the steak was one of the best we had throughout our trip in Argentina (highly reccommended!). We walked to Recoleta. It's also a great location for if your next stop is the domestic airport (Jorge Newbury).

Ariel was quite helpful too. Breakfast was average.

We paid USD$85 for the night, and we know that this is definitely good value, as on our return trip to Buenos Aires, we were about to stay in another B&B for USD$65, but we had to leave after 5 minutes as it was not fit for a flea bitten dog!

Palermo Viejo lives up to all expectations and you will be more than happy with your stay here! Highly recommended.

We had a very nice stay at this b&b.Breakfast was the usual argentine stuff but with fresh fruit which was nice. The room was average; small but well appointed with a mini fridge and safe. For us, the real highlight of our stay was the woman who worked at the front desk and Jonathan, both of whom were so helpful when our flight was delayed, let us check out a bit late and hang out in the common area. They were both so kind and helpful. Palermo is an awesome area of buenos aires and this is a nice place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Palermo Viejo B & B for ten nights in Oct 2011. This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Ariel and his staff made us feel as though we were part of the family. Upon our arrival Ariel whipped out a map and gave us an over view of the city and suggestions of things we might want to do or see. Each morning he helped us plan our day including what bus to take or what to tell the taxi driver. He made reservations for tango shows and tours and ordered airport taxis. Prior to our arrival he helped us organize a trip to Iguassu Falls. Wow! The location is excellent. Many restaurants and shops are nearby, laundry and gym are around the corner and major bus routes are steps away. The bed was super comfortable, the plumbing and wifi worked and morning breakfast of yogurt, fresh fruit, rolls, juice coffee and tea was just right. I highly recommend staying here.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Stylish B&B in the heart of Palermo Viejo/Soho. The house is located in a 1901 building, traditional of those days in Buenos Aires neighborhoods. The Casa Chorizo has been renewed keeping its original style. High ceilings, brick and thick walls are one of the details to mention. As a narrow landmark the rooms are organized in a row, facing the side patio/garden full of green where hanging out after a long day is a must. All the rooms have private en-suite bathroom and two of them are big enough with a double level to accommodate more than two people, perfect for 3 or 4. The art work of different artists is found everywhere in the property which gives it a Bohemian atmosphere. The decor is simple, where each item was found in flea markets and auctions to make the B&B a warm and a perfect place to feel at home away of home. ... more   less
