The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included, it's very basic but okay (they just offer toast bread, croissants or cornflakes and butter, philadelphia type cheese, two types of jam or dulce de leche; drinks: coffee, tea, milk and apple juice). Our only complaint was that, at the time we were there, the WiFi in the room was not functioning, and only two days out of four the WiFi in the lobby was accessible. Another thing that might be useful is that the hotel could offer plug adapters, but those you could buy next door for 40 pesos. To exchange money, it's wise to do it at the bank as they offer better exchange rates than in the hotel.

We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. They allowed us to check in early and check out late. The breakfast was a small but adequate buffet. The location is convenient for walking to the city center or taking the metro (when it reopens). Our street-side room was noisy.

Room tip: Try to get a back room. The street side rooms have a lot of traffic noise.

The perfect hotel for simple, easy, economical tourism with no frills. Out of the centre, but 100 metres from the main metro (or "Subte") which takes you to the centre of the city - though not until February when they finish renewing the trains.
The hotel is breakfast only, clean, large, fresh new rooms with a big comfortable bed, TV and the best WiFi connection (at least in the bedroom) I have ever used - including in Europe!
The owners are the staff, speak English. There is a terrace on the roof for smokers!
If you know the Ibis hotel chain in France, the idea is similar!

Spent 5 nights at the Destino Real, picked the hotel because it is new (opened 1 1/2 months ago as of this review) and because I found what was described as a 50% off deal on Expedia, which incidentally turned out to be almost the same price of 250 pesos/night available to anyone walking in. Management maintains low prices in order to become known and attract repeat customers.

Having visited BA many times, I would describe the hotel as a strong 2 1/2 star by international standards and a 3 stars by Argentinian standards. The neighborhood near Plaza Once is definitely not very nice, OK during the day but not a place to take a walk at night.

Security at the hotel is very good, the rooms are new and clean, everything is functional, including the internet which worked flawlessly. The owners and staff were helpful and very nice and it always felt good coming back to the hotel.

Location is convenient to Rivadavia, a major artery, and to public transportation (access to subway and numerous buses at nearby Plaza Miserere). Taxis are readily available at the gas station around the corner.

Nice, clean, safe, unpretentious hotel. Would definitely return.

Tips:
Best to turn right towards Rivadavia when you come out of the hotel, area to the left after the bridge is rough.
Inquire at the hotel about exchanging USD
I do not believe anyone at the hotel speaks English

Room tip: Rooms that do not overlook the street are much quieter
