The show itself was pretty decent, costumes were certainly nice and there weren't any corny nationalistic moments as is the case with some of the other shows. Food was so-so, there was certainly plenty of it, but the real problem was with the SERVICE. Our waiter had maybe 5-8 tables to serve but he couldn't handle it and I guess he decided we were the lowest possible priority because the other tables were getting drinks served and we were being ignored. And after all of this he had the cheek to come up to us during the show, speaking to us in English for probably the first time all night and telling us that tips for waiters weren't included in the show price. Well, I hope the other tables he chose to prioritise over us tipped him well because we didn't tip him at all, instead we saved our tip for the lovely driver who picked us up from our hotel and took us back afterwards.

All in all we ended up at Los Angelitos due to a booking error with our booking agent, we had meant to go to another show, and in the end we felt our original decision in not wanting to go to Los Angelitos was validated. The reasonably good show and excellent driver can't make up for the bad experience we had with our waiter. Go elsewhere, there are plenty of options in Buenos Aires to choose from.

Hope this review has been helpful. If you have any other questions on the show please feel free to message me.

We stopped in to have a coffee and factura and it was decent. I cannot speak much about the other item on the menu but coffee was fine. I will say that have a gorgeous bathroom, which is hard to come by in Buenos Aires.

Just a fabulous Show, excellent food (although too much for me!), fantastic service, wine was flowing. All in all and fabulous experience which I still keep thinking about. The pick-up from hotel was on time and lovely driver (can't remember his name). Excellent value for money and would certainly recommend and would go again if ever we find ourselves in Buenos Aires. Wonderful memory of a lovely City.

Such a disappointing evening, a very expensive & mediocre tango show - definitely choose a different venue! Some excellent set pieces/dancing interspersed with poor synchronicity, dancers out of time with each other, clearly just "going through the motions" - & some terrible singing in between. A poor shadow of the tango show we saw 6 years ago on our last trip to B. Aires which we loved, decided to try a different show but are sorry we didn't go back to the first place. We thought on our last evening it would be the highlight of our trip but it fell short in every way. So take our advice, avoid this show & find another.
We were quoted $190 per person for VIP seats, drinks & the show - we didn't have the dinner. Everything is designed to rip you off so if you go, at least you will be warned that they will:
- serve you half a glass only & you have to catch a waiter to serve you another "half" glass
- they then hassle you to add "service charge/tips" for the waiter
- they use an extortionate exchange rate & apply it to the price quoted - so that the $190 quoted is converted into AR pesos at a rate well above the market rate & equal to £190 per person. £380 for two people is a lot more than $380 and this is sharp practice.
They only agreed to refund us 988 AR pesos (just under £50) when we made a fuss & said we'd complain to our hotel.
Overall, this is nowhere near the best tango show you can see in B.Aires so choose one of the others on offer!

Grey skies and torrential rain made our first two days in BA disappointing and we were ready to give BA (unfairly) a thumbs down. However, the Tango Show at Café de los Angelinos lifted our spirits and brought BA to life for us. The show was spectacular. The show “travelled” through a variety of times showcasing different adaptations of tango to the relevant age. This approach ensured the show constantly held one’s attention. The costumes, of which there were many, were outstanding, the dancing first class and the voices of the lead male and female singers were world class. On top of this was a group of great musicians who were central and visible throughout. Costume changes, of which there were many, accompanied each of the different times and added colour and passion to each of the displays.
The food, considering the large numbers each show caters for was very good. The menu choice was good and the food well presented. This is not a gastronomic event so do not expect it to be. You will get good food, efficiently presented accompanied by wine and beer to match your appetite.
In summary, the Tango Show was not just a highlight of our few days in BA but a highlight of our three weeks in South America. With so many shows to choose from, I was extremely pleased with this choice
