Nice hotel , great staff and Olu Denize would be lovely if it was not for the "HP sauce ads". The staff are friendly but at times it felt like I was at a tattoo convention and that was just the women. If you like smokers, tattoos and fattys then you will love this place. In it's defence the Turkish have pandered to English mentatilty which is a shame as the resort is set in a stunning location. This of course is ruined by signs everywhere for English Bacon or HP sauce. The Turkish were cheeky but lovely with it and prices have shot up in the 20 years since I last went. If you could get past the bill boards the food was stunning. Breakfasts at the hotel were fine. The evening entertainment was dancers of all pursuasions. The rooms are ready for a make over but set in nice blocks. The pools where clean and so were the grounds. The security around safety deposit boxes was non existent, you could have found a key on the floor and they would happily hand over the second all important security key. To sum up, it was ok.

returned to karbel for third time, last time 2004.(2couples,) booked 2 double rooms 1/3 and asked for rooms on top floor, on arrival was told at reception there was no rooms available for us and we were told we had to go to another hotel for 1 nite,(karbel sun)the porter/security man mustapha took our luggage on a trolley over to hotel and said he would come and get us next day, when shown to room it was a below ground room, not very nice so I went back to karbel reception to register my displeasure, I was then ushered in to see the boss FERDI, a very nice man who apologised for problem and promised we would have a good room tomorrow ,he kept his promise and at midday next day we were collected and taken to rooms 940 and 943, very nice rooms. the hotel has changed a fair bit since 2004 not all for the better. cleaners are very good and very hard working, bar staff, ERIC (there last time but with more hair) ishmail and rambo(the man)all ery good, bar manager, dont know his name, a bit miserable, lighten up mate .dining room staff mainly ok with a few exceptions, pariculary one balding man who was a pain in the thingy, almost had words at the bbq nite over his attitude.the main difference though is the FOOD,sorry ferdi the food has gone downhill so much its scary, look at the letters, we are 60 plus, but the people with children had no choice , mainly turkish mezi (sometimes inedible)very repetative, the kids want chips, burgers, fish finger, chiken nuggets etc, think about it, its not rocket science, before the people come on saying, your in turkey, what do you expect to eat I say what was on the menu before the cut backs please, do yourself a favour ferdi, walk up and down the dining room between 8/9 pm and note the amount of almost full plates being taaken away from the ends of the tables, everyone cant be wrong, all in all still a very good hotel but could be so much better.

We stayed at this hotel from the 24th september - october 8th 2010. We had booked it especially as we were getting married at the blue lagoon whilst on holiday. There was 11 of us who stayed at this hotel, my husband and i had the best room by far, where as the rest of our guests had very small rooms. That is the only complaint they had about the hotel, as we all had a fantastic holiday overall. We cannot thank the staff enough they were absolutely fantastic, we would like to say a big hello to all the pool bar staff Ishmail (aka cancelled), Ersoy, Eric and Isa to name but a few.
We stayed half board, the food was lovely, the bbq night was a good night. The 2 pools were great, very clean. The weather was great, would definately visit at this time of year again. The hotel is in a perfect location for the strip of shops and restaurants and beach.
Would definately recommend going for a turkish bath and massage they are amazing. The horse riding was a good giggle too!
Last but not least would like to say a big thank you to Sarah our wedding co-ordinator (thomas cook) as our day was perfect!!!
Big thanks to the Karbel team!!

Just returned from this hotel, stayed in a garden shed, had no hot water for a week and found staff unhelpful and unfriendly to the point of being rude. Would like to offer the manager and his mother a holiday in the uk. for £700 he can stay in my garden shed for a week Lorraine Potts Peak District .
