My family and I recently stayed the Karbel Hotel whilst visiting Olu Deniz, lovely hotel with basic but nice rooms, it currently now only has one pool due to an increased lease on the other, but I feel that is all they needed, the pool is surrounded by a pool bar and also has a tv, 2 pool tables and a football table to keep the kids occupied. Fab hotel, with only a small downside which was there is not air conditioning in the reception area so it does get hot, especially when the temperatures sore above 50 degrees.

We stayed bed and breakfast at the Karbel as one half of my family had been all in exclusive in the hotel opposite before and had said they ate out most nights, however we did purchase tickets at 30 lira per adults and 15 lira per kid on the Wednesday night for the BBQ night, which was very impressive, although sadly the entertainment that followed was not! Although it does give you a sense of the Turkish culture.

The staff here were very friendly especially isa okt who is the person you order off of for breakfast if you want any extras such as fresh orange juice or a full English which can be purchased at a small price. However bread, jam, eggs, cereals, and a selection of toppings such as cheese are available on the buffet for free, with the choice of omelettes and scramble eggs on certain days free of charge.

Whilst staying in Olu deniz we hired a private 8 person boat complete with a driver for the day from Bloody Gorgous who is located near the end of the strip, it was a great day out and defiantly worth all the money ! We stopped off at many places including the camel beach, cold water springs and a place where you can do some cliff diving. We also stopped off at about 4 other places and at all of these stops we were able to get off and swim in the crystal clear sea. The day also included a BBQ lunch which was cooked to perfection.

From bloody Gorgous my dad also purchased a paragliding trip, booked through them at around 60 English pound you can get it cheaper through other companies located in the strip, but this meant he went up with gravity the leading paragliding company in Olu deniz, he had a very pleasant flight down, and would have liked to have gone again. There were now casualties whilst we were out there and neither has there been this year. And only 2 in the previous 2 years due to the people panicking when having to run off the cliff, resulting in a failed take off.

The sea horse beach is also located on the edge of the blue lagoon which is definitely worth going to, it is easily accesible with a free transit bus taking your straight from the front of the Karbel hotel down to it. Here you are unable to take food and drink in, althought a bottle of water in your bag you can normally get away with. Here prices of water are more expensive at 4 lira instead of just 1 on th strip. Sun beds also have to be purchased at 7.35 if you are not fuly inclusive.

The strip at night is a great place to be with many shopping stores selling cheap fake brands inlcuding vans abercrombie and fitch hollister converse lacoste, many of them infact look pretty real, however you have to remember to haggle, that's what they want you to do, and even at the price you think seems reasonable they are still making a huge profit, take for example a Louis Vuitton bag we brought out there, a man wanted 175 lira for it, we got it down to just 50 lira, he brought the bag for 20 lira!

There are some very nice restaurants including daphienes gardens, buffalo steakhouse which has an elvis night every Tuesday and Friday which is definatley worth seeing, shadows bars is probably the most active places to go for a drink but all offer good deals on drink at night.

Overall great place to go and stay and I would definatley reccomend it to anyone and everyone else!

Stayed there end June / Beginning July/
Quite basic room but didn't stay in room a lot anyway so that didn't matter.
Very friendly staff and helpful rep.
Karaoke was entertaining.
Very relaxed atmosphere in a nice setting.

Room Tip: top floors have better views

Having read a lot of reviews on the Karbel Hotel I decided to book with Thomsons for myself and my son for a weeks holiday. On arrival the reception area was good and the check in friendly and easy. We were shown to our room in block 7 and I can only think that there must be refurbished and old style in this hotel as ours was not as nice as in the brochure. We had nowhere to sit in the room apart from the beds and one had a very bad water stain on the bed base. I like a firm mattress but these were solid! The bathroom was very old fashioned and only half the shower nozzle produced any water. On the last day the air conditioning started to leak all over the floor so we had to turn it off. Having said that the location of the hotel is very good - just at the top of the main street and only a few minutes walk from the beach front. Breakfast consisted of boiled eggs, cheese, processed meats(didn't try them as they looked very unappetising), olives, bread, cereal and tea or coffee or what looked like radioactive squash - by the look of the colour in the "juice" as they called it there couldn't have been anything natural in there. All in all we had a great holiday but felt quite overcharged for such a basic room and hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you contact the hotel in advance to request a refurbished room ( if they exist)

i had a nice stay at the karble hotel in may/june 2012., plenty of sunbeds at any time of day, good selection of snacks at the pool bar, very friendly staff, good idea with the credit card so you dont have to carry cash around with you, good clean rooms, my only fault was the food, what they called continental, cold buffet with boiled and sometimes scrambled eggs, evening buffet not great either but so cheap to eat out, would go back and recommend to friends

Room Tip: not many rooms with a view so dont be dissapointed

Arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning, we were greeted by reception and were assisted to our room.
Staff spoke good English and were very friendly.
Stayed on a b&b basis but only made it to breakfast a few times in the week. Breakfast was simple, lovely fresh bread.
The hotel was in an excellent location, with shops, bars and eateries all on the doorstep.
Room was small but clean with everything we needed, hair dryer, air con, fridge.
Hotel had very pretty gardens with views from small balcony.
It was a 5/10 minute stroll to the beach.
Really enjoyed our stay here and the resort had a lovely friendly feeling. Beaches were beautiful and sea was lovely and warm.
