We were picked up at the parking lot by taking us with the golf caddy to the reception. There the aperitiv was already waiting for us during check-in. In house dining at Raphaels restaurant was excellent. Meat was the best we had in entire South Africa.
The porter showed us the rooms which were located very nice next to the wine hills with huge balcony. Inventar of the room was beautiful.
All in all a very recommendable hotel!

Chanced upon this place as we were driving and glad we did. Very friendly staff quick check in and when we were shown the room it was wow. We stayed in the bell chamber 3 levels. Great dinner and breakfast sorry to have to leave so soon

We stayed in Asara, just outside Stellenbosch, in December 2011. We booked through Late Rooms.com, and the room, which was stunning. We had 3 nights, and our stay was memorable, for the accommodation, the meals, and particularly the staff. It is a good place for touring the Winelands, and the estate itself has some very fine wines. We had 2 incidents, whilst at the hotel, one with some very rude guests, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and sympathetic. Also, when we arrived home, it transpired we had had a double card payment. Which turned out to be the card provider, and their card interface with our credit card. But the Finance Director went to endless trouble to try to sort, before the 2 providers picked it up and sorted it. The food in the restaurant is good, but the menu is limited, so mix it up with the many good restaurants in the area. However, the breakfasts are brilliant, especially as I don't like cooked breakfasts. The choice and variety on the cold buffet, was excellent. We would go again.

Room Tip: Face the dam
