We just got back from a two night getaway at this rustic property, lovely comfortable bed, fireplace in the lounge, views forever down the valley from a large patio.
A filling farmhouse breakfast each day served by the friendly hostess of the manor, with a freshly baked loaf of bread and prickly pear jam. Rooms were comfy and a tv would be a plus. The fireplace was lovely as it was June and cold.

Room Tip: depends on the size of the beds you require

For a fascinating and pleasant experience of how our ancestors have lived, this is the perfect address!
An old mission bell welcomes you at the teak front door that comes from Cape Governor Simon van der Stel´s hunting lodge! (dating back to the 1600s) The Manor house where you'll have breakfast is immaculately decorated with antique furniture and other pieces with a rich past life! So is your own little "huisje".
Every morning Marojean and team will spoil you with a wholesome breakfast. Their homemade jam and bread are irresistible! The neighbouring ostrich farm is a must visit.

We booked into Mietas Cottage which was very adequate. The cottages date back some years, and are quaint, but could do with a little bit of and upgrade. Shower floor for example. Obviously you dont want to loose the Cape Dutch influence, but I would have preferred to know that the traffic from the road (which was extremely busy) would have been a nuisance. Host was very accommodating and arranged dinner at a superb nearby restaurant.

Room Tip: Could only comment on Mietas Room

We stayed here 2 nights whilst visiting the Swartberg Pass and The Hell. It is an acquired taste, only because there are no TV in the rooms and no children under12. But that is exactly what we were looking for. Rooms are comfy, clean and lovely and cool. Breakfast is beautiful with freshly baked bread and home made jams. Service is friendly and professional at all times. We can not wait te go back, much more to explore. A place with character and charm.

Just had one night here en route to Prince Albert. Lovely and unusual rooms and very friendly owner. Breakfast was excellent. If we are back in this area next year will definitely spend a night or two.
