Description: Nestled in the fertile Constantia Valley lies a 300-year old wine estate, Groot Constantia and on it, Simon's restaurant, where we celebrate the riches of the Cape winelands by transforming the freshest ingredients into memorable meals. Revel in the Cape Town summer by dining al fresco on our terrace with panoramic views of the Groot Constantia vineyards. Savour the wines of the valley or enjoy our wide selection of craft beers. As the weather turns, join us inside where we like to light a giant fire on chilly days

This is a typical wine estate restaurant with great views overlooking the vineyards and mountains and looking onto the old Cape Dutch buildings, so really superb for long lunches in the sun, as we did. Nice menu, good food and very friendly service, albeit a bit random. Had a great time, but not so special that I would rush back, particularly with all the other excellent wine estates restaurants in the area.

Our dreamy visit to the oldest wineyard in Cape Town was sealed with lunch at Simon's. The pasta linguine with chicken was heavenly. Not to mention the delicious bottle of Groot Constantia Chardonnay 2017 which was emptied in no time. Staff was amazing too. Will surely visit again when in CT

My wife and I were in Cape Town for business/vacation so we booked a table and Uber'd out to the estate. We were met by the best hostess and waitstaff and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The smoked springbok carpaccio was a unique and amazing appetizer, and the peri peri chicken and filet mignon were both great entrees. Groot's own Pinotage red wine is terrific and right up there with Napa/Sonoma (I wish I could buy it here in Texas). Overall a great choice for a dinner date on the Cape!

The ambience was beautiful. We had the pasta linguine with chicken, please do your taste buds a favor and have some. It was absolutely lovely. We also had Chardonnay (2017) and it went nicely with the meal. The staff were very polite and engaging.

I will certainly visit again when I am in South Africa.

A short 20 minute drive will bring you from Cape Town to Constantia and to "Simon's Restaurant". Located at the oldest wine estate of South África, the famous "Groot Constantia Wine Estate", "Simon's Restaurant" offers fine meals and great wines on a lovely terrace, with awesome views to the Estate's vineyards. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at "Simon's" last February: "Game Carpaccio", "Mushroom Linguine" and a fanstastic "Groot Constantia 2016 Pinotage". A beautiful venue, friendly service, adequate prices and fond memories to take home. Visiting Cape Town, one cannot miss the experience of dining at the vinelands of Constantia Valley. Bon Appétit!
