In the month of October it was very nice to visit the Capetown, the journey between Cape Town to Knysna was very good. Though it was very far route we have choose to go via the Garden route to enjoy the journey. Our driver was very good he was cracking jokes and explain about south africa and all the places.r. If any one interested you can reach out to henry +27 787944368.

We are a couple in our sixties, and we have just returned from our holiday in South Africa. We hired a car in cape town, and drove down the cape peninsula, then on to the coastal areas, plus Stellenbosch and Frankshoek. The driving was easy, the roads are excellent, all very well sign-posted. We especially enjoyed the Simons Town- Misty Bay- Kommetjie areas, and then the very scenic drive from Gordons Bay on R44 to Bettys bay. We also loved being in Frankshoek, and drove the R62 to Oudtshoorn.
We stopped in various Bnbs and guest houses on the way, they were mostly very good and reasonably priced. we had a great time.

We hired a car from Hertz at Port Elizabeth Airport on Friday evening the 09/09/16. When we collected the car it was dark and pouring with rain and the area where we collected the car from was very poorly lit, however, we inspected the vehicle as best we could and everything appeared to be alright. The following morning in the daylight, we inspected the vehicle again and could find no problems to report. On returning the vehicle to Hertz at Cape Town Airport at midday on Sunday 18/09/16, the lady receiving the vehicle back in, pointed out a very small mark on the front windscreen just above where the wiper blade sits, which we hadn't noticed or had any recollection of happening. The blemish was so small, it wasn't even a chip or a crack, we explained to the lady that we didn't expect to receive any charges relating to this, but she was very vague and just disappeared into the office. We stood about waiting for someone to come out to speak to us further but nobody did and after ten to fifteen minutes of standing waiting with the vehicle, we decided to go and check what was happening to be told it was OK and that we could just go, however since returning home, we have had two separate amounts taken from our account totaling over £700.00. In my opinion this is daylight robbery. Firstly, for the fact that I don't believe we were responsible for the so called blemish on the windscreen in the first place, secondly for Hertz supposedly replacing the windscreen, which in my opinion, didn't need replacing for just one small blemish and thirdly for taking over £700.00 out of our account, without our permission, for doing it, when even in the UK the replacement windscreen wouldn't cost anywhere near that amount let alone in South Africa. We have made numerous attempts to contact Hertz and resolve this matter satisfactorily to no avail so I will not be using Hertz ever again and strongly recommend anyone else considering to use them, to seriously think again.

We rented a car in Cape Town. Drove out via Stellenbosch and Paarl stopping for wine tasting at Fairview winery (very nice restaurant and deli) and then further along at Graham Beck winery. Joined the N1 going east and at Worcester joined the N60 - N62. Some way after Worcester and beyond Montague the road is a lonely one. Scenic, yes but can be quite baron interspersed by green hills. This goes on for 2/3 hrs. Not many interesting stop off points for food and drink. Our first leg of this route took us to Oudtshorn where we stayed overnight at DeZeekoe Farm (ostriches and meerkats!). The journey from Cape Town to here took us the best part of the day including the wine stops. Next day we went to Hog Hollow lodge. The road took us via George, Knysna and Plettenburg Bay. Plenty of good places to stop and see and this leg of the journey is only 2.5hrs without stopping. The lady night we stayed at St James Knysna hotel. Next day we took the N2 back to Cape Town (around 470km). Despite being warned that it would be incredibly busy as its holiday season and could take us 8hrs - we had a very easy journey and did it within 5hrs plus a couple of stops. Good fast road and also scenic. We even had time to go back into Stellenbosch for a mooch before going onto the airport. The route was interesting both ways and would recommend doing the miles if you like driving.
