The stay in the imbali safari lodge was for us a real treat.
We arrived a bit late for lunch, but they served us anyway whatever we wanted.
The dinner after the evening safari was really amazing. Everything was of a superb quality and all tastes were right.
The nice thing was the watering hole across the dining place, where you can see elephants, rhino's, wildebeest and other come and drink while having dinner.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull all the time.
The evening and morning game drives were a bit disappointing, since we did not see the big 5, but we could appreciate the tour that the ranger gave us. The ranger was very knowledgeable and dedicated to his job.
The lodges themselves were really amazing. They are very luxurious and comfortable.
We had a good time in Imbali and would recommend a stay there for sure.

All perfect !
And a very good and efficient ranger ! Imbali benefits of a private concession so the ranger can leave the road which is definitely a plus !
Water hole just in front of the restaurant. Perfect room and service ! I deeply recommend this lodge.

One of the strongest point of this beautiful and comforting Lodge is it's Staff. They are so experienced, warm and informative that they could give any Ranger (working with this Lodge) a good run for their money.

The cottages are tastefully done with a Plunge pool yet reflects South African Essence. Sadly, we could enjoy it because of the very cold winters. Food served here is Yummy. We used to look forward to the Evening Dinners because they cater to individual taste, choice and portions. In fact, they went out of their way to provide Green Pesto (which they excel in making and Kunnu enjoyed eating) even when it was not on the menu. How courteous and sweet!

Just for the sake of these humans we have given Imabali Lodge 4 out of 5 otherwise the sad Rangers and game drives deserve it nothing more than a 'Poor' rating. This ranger from UK (or some European country) who was working for Imabli for brief time and he was allocated to us on three Game Drives. He wouldn't dare to do things that other colleagues were doing (which were safe) to give an experience of lifetime. It was one of the most horrid experience of our safaris. He seemed totally unenthusiastic. We totally understand getting to watch Animals is all about luck but lurking along the same line over and over again without taking other routes was something that left us wondering. The new Ranger ( a lady) allocated to us after this guy after this guy didn't turn up for the drive was equally over-enthusiastically 'All Talks and no Result'. What was also very unprofessional of the rangers to do is to take us to watch a sunset over few drinks when we were only interested in watching wildlife only because two members from the other group wanted to so. Why weren't they accommodated them on the other drive then?

Unless the Lodge and staff weren't great we would have had the most miserable time here.

Dear Ozzy-Kunnu -
Thank you for taking the time to write your detailed review of your stay at Imbali Safari Lodge. While we're very happy to hear that you enjoyed most aspects of your stay, we're very concerned to read you feedback on your game drive experience and in particular your guides. Please be assured that all our guides are trained and qualified before taking any guests out on game drive, and this includes understanding how to maximise the experience for everyone of their guests, even if the guests themselves have different interests or priorities. Your feedback will be extremely useful in working with our guides to ensure that they meet and exceed the expected standards, and we would like to apologise sincerely to you as it seems that in this instance we fell short in this crucial area.

Everything about our experience at Imbali Safari Lodge was magical, from being picked up at the airport in car and seeing a giraffe and elephants on our way to the property, to the daily game drives led by our ranger Wesley.

Ranger Wesley was fantastic. He found us everything we wanted, especially Mr. Lion and his family. They were amazing. We saw the "Big 5", little 5, and everything in between.

This was brilliant to come back after an amazing photo safari to have a dinner, while elephants and antelopes walking in a short distance.

Everyone at Imbali made our stay very comfortable. We thank all staff for their attentive.
We really don't have anything negative to say about Imbali Lodge except for ….. we had to leave.
