Firstly, the place can be a bit difficult to find if you are a first time visitor, as available arking spaces might not be on the same floor. However, once used to, iI guess it becomes easy.

As usual, such fine dining spaces are better reserved to avoid dissapointment. Our booking was confirmed on their register and we weere ursured upstairs to our table, where we found other members already seated.

We waited for our ordetrs to be taken, understandably so, as the place was fully booked. However, the waiter attebnded to our table and took our oderss, as usual, while waiting for our orders, we helped ourselves to some bottled wines.

i ordered, tukey and vergitables, and took my time to enjoy it, as for others, they had avariety of plates. We enjoyed the ambience and the level of service.

After visiting this place many times we decided to have our Christmas Day Lunch at this venue with our immediate family of 9 adults and 1 child and paid a R1000 deposit in advance. The booking was made weeks ago and after confirming 5 times during the week we arrived on time as planned. We were greeted by friendly waiters and ushered to our table which was squashed into one corner and the table was set for 8 people, 8 plates, 8 sets of utensils and 8 wine glasses. A lady approached us in a highly distressed state and seemed to be the manager or has she claimed to be the owner. She was not willing to assist by adding 2 chairs or to check our booking. Her body language, disdain and her aggressive comments totally unprofessional. Her arrogance, stubbornness, lack of leadership, or ability to simply check our reservation fell on deaf ears and she asked us to leave, and that she won’t add chairs and won’t be serving our guests who hadn’t arrived yet. With nowhere to go because all restaurants were fully booked at Monte Casino we stayed on phoning around for another restaurant, waiting for our guests. This lady then returned 10 mins later and reluctantly asked us to stay after checking the booking. By now our special day was ruined and I left vowing never to give my hard earned money to that place ever again. The meals were good and staff were very helpful and ashamed of her behaviour and they apologised many times to us. I wish I had read the reviews before booking but hopefully my message will help others. I am convinced that when they have many quieter days and desperate for clients that she would behave differently. Makes you think

We went for a set menu food and wine pairing. We were driven incorrect menus, there were two few wait staff and we waited an hour between each corse. The wait staff clearly did not understand the menu.

In a food and wine pairing all but one wine was served at the incorrect temperature. With an excuse from the waiter that she thought there was an issue with the fridge.

The lemon hello tart was a fat base with 2mm of tart painted on it. Smothered in a pile of whipped cream like a cheap ice cream shop.

All in all, in all, it was an overpriced badly run farce. Including terrible service due to bad staff training and understaffing on a Saturday night. With warm wine and good to mediocre food at high prices.

Nice place for spending anniversaries and birthdays, very intimate and beautiful service as well... just great!🤩🤎
