As a Pick n Pay shopper I find it very convenient for the family to sit back, relax and have a great meal whilst I do my shopping right next door. The design of the restaurant allows for easy access into the supermarket without you feeling that you are actually in Pick n Pay itself.
The sushi is great and whilst they do have people sitting around the sushi table you are able to order it directly from the menu.
The menu is comprehensive, reasonably priced and the food beautifully presented.
I have now discovered that their trading hours extend to 8:00pm during the week, so we often pop in for freshly brewed coffee and incredible carrot cake after dinner.

Been coming to this restaurant for a long time now but recently there has to have been a management change or something. Last ordered a burger that was severed so uncooked that you could smell the raw meat when you cut into it. Had to send back to get it cooked properly twice. Management sauntered over on the third attempt and offered up an excuse of being "short staffed" Going elsewhere now!

This used to be one of our favorite family restaurants - alas no longer. Same friendly staff but food simply not good anymore - new management and kitchen staff have done this establishment a disservice. Give it a wide berth.

Dropped in with our daughters after a shop and had some sushi and a burger. Reasonable quality and well priced but service a bit chaotic and coffee unexceptional. Nice, breezy atmosphere. Good brownie.

We used to love Thyme. And we introduced so many of our friends to it. A few years ago it won the best restaurant in its category. But this year it has really gone down. We were a party of four and we all said the food was just simply not the same standard. Really quite tasteless.
Other friends had warned us but we decided to go anyway.
Quite a jump in some of the prices e.g. spatchcock chicken from around R76 to a R116 in a few months.
The presentation isn't as good either - the chips used to be served in a bowl on the plate. Looked classy.
Staff didn't seem to know how to control the blinds which suddenly opened, leaving us freezing. Took forever to get them down again. Then they went up again and again it took a while to find someone who knew how to work them. It is just an example of the lack of care.
Such a pity as we really used to love going there.
Wines are still well priced.
