We decided to pop in for dinner, mistake and a waste of money and time. The place feels dirty, tables are not decently set even though the place is quite empty, menus are tatty and dirty and the service is not existant.

We visited Adega as a birthday late lunch. The place was reasonably busy although by no means full - we had booked for 15:00 hours- a bit later than normal lunch. They had on offer a buffet spread for R240 per head. Upon inspection it looked a "bit sad" although there was plenty of variety. My wife settled for grilled sole, it arrived burnt on one side but was replaced promptly. I settled for surf and turf - prawns and rump steak. It was excellent although I thought the charge for pepper sauce was a bit steep. My son was also satisfied with his skewer of beef cubes. Sweet was rice pudding - a little on the cold side, Italian kisses - went down well and a capacino coffee. The bill came with a 10% service charge already added - fine if the service is tip top, remember the burnt sole! Drinks consisted of two beers and a sprite and clocked just under R900. Dining out is not cheap anymore!

Very disappointed with quality of food.

The 300g rump steaks were so thin.
The calamari tubes tasted like rubber

Went with a crowd and had pre-booked which is advisable since the place was packed. All 8 of us had the buffet which was really good with all types of fish including prawns and meats being served. Very tasty food and good service. Only thing that put me off was the very loud music which meant conversation was nil but I do understand that it is only on Saturday night when the live band plays so will go on a different night next time. Recommended.
