We frequently passed by this place and finally decided to stop by and visit given we'd just recently moved to Gilbert. The staff are very friendly and helpful, it's chock full of photos and memorabilia detailing Gilbert's history, its founders and early settlers, etc. We spent a very enjoyable two hours walking throughout the building which itself is on the national register.

Thank John B

This museum is housed in the original Gilbert High School,. Docents are knowledgeable and welcoming. You can see it in an hour or less.

The train museum in the basement was open on the Saturday we visited. It is free and a quick walk through. The museum is in the original elementary school of Gilbert. Many rooms with historical accounts and pictures and show cases. Cost is $5 per adult. Open 9-4. Not much for children to do/see, although there is a "play room" in a small part of one exhibit room.

A concrete experience of what it was like in the early days of Gilbert. Actual utensils, displays of actual room furnishings, farm machinery. A well done effort in a simple fashion. Good documentation to assist in complete understanding of exhibits. A good place to relax and unwind.

I took my 13-year-old grandson to go through the museum. Although Ive lived in Gilbert for 31 years I realized after going through the museum that I didn't know that much about its history. This museum certainly filled in the gaps.
