The photos on the web site are from another time...it is half built half derelict and not much evidence of maintenance or any ongoing improvements going on so those rooms that are finished are falling into disrepair. although builders obviously there once. There are broken tiles all over the front entrance steps to my room, i was bitten very badly by mosquitoes as there is no chemical treatment unlike other hotels so cover up carefully from dusk. Dont expect a daily room clean, a towel , phone in the room or anything like that. There is no reception , shop etc However the room did have a working fridge and air con.
The entrance is a dirt track.
There was one other couple staying there and maybe a couple of divers .it is deserted.
The wife was wearing full burka on the beach.
. Dont bring in any alcohol , which is very much frowned upon.
There is a restaurant but rarely open unless you book the day before, the chef is friendly.
The beach is beautiful but i felt too uncomfortable to enter water.
The dive centre Avalon looks run down as eveywhere else so didnt use it .
If you are looking for a serious low budget place it is fine but would not recommend for a western women as great feeling of isolation at night. Would suit a group of teetotal guys on low budget about £18 per night. You pay for what you get !
You will need a car to get provisions.
