“Perfect home base to explore Alaska!”
Reviewed 25 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The cabin and loft are the perfect place to call home while you exploring Alaska!
We were a group of five, three stayed in the main cabin, while the other two stayed in the loft, and we couldn't of been happier. Both were exactly as described in the description and both were incredibly comfortable.

The best part, Francine, the owner/manager of the property. Simply put, Francine was extraordinary. She has such a vast wealth of knowledge about Talkeetna and Alaska in general. Prior to our arrival she helped us plan our trip to Denali NP, and set us up with ride over the park in an airplane (which sadly, do to the weather, did not happend) During our stay in Talkeenta Francine joined us for breakfast and gave us even more advice and tips. Truly, a delight to be around.

If you're looking for a place to stay near Denali NP (near is a relative in Alaska. Talkeetna is a couple hours away from the park) I would highly recommend the Majestic. We'll definitely be returning for years to come.

“A Great Log Home in Talkeetna!”
Reviewed 24 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We recently stayed at the Talkeetna Majestic for 4 nights in early September. We consider our stay at this beautiful, classy, log home to be one of the highlights of our Alaskan adventure. It had all the comforts we needed. With 3 bedrooms it was perfect for the 4 of us. My wife and I got the king bed in one of the upstairs bedrooms, one daughter took the queen downstairs while the other daughter slept in one of the two twins in the other upstairs bedroom. It was quiet and peaceful at night. It had a full kitchen and 2 large bathrooms, which was nice. A gas fireplace in the corner of the living room made it warm and cozy. The Talkeetna Majestic owner Francine even had some games at the house and my daughter and I played Monopoly together one night for the first time in years. A few minutes away is the delightful town of Talkeetna, which had plenty of great shops and restaurants with a real Alaskan feel to them. A very walkable town with some fascinating history, it is the point where climbers start their journey to Denali. We took a day trip to Denali National Park for the bus tour that takes you into the park for an 8 hour round trip ride, a beautiful and spectacular place. One of the other highlights of our trip was taking the Alaskan Railroad out of the Talkeetna Train Station on what is called the Hurricane Turn Train. A 6 hour train ride into the wilderness and back with a very friendly train crew, it is part working train, part tourist adventure. It makes stops for anyone along the track who is living or visiting out there. It is so amazing to see so much wilderness and wildlife, the train even backed up to look for bear cubs we passed at one point! All in all, we found the Talkeetna Majestic to be great for our family and we think most people would enjoy this great log home in Talkeetna.

“Nice House but Not Exactly What I Expected”
Reviewed 14 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The 3 bedroom, 2 bath house is nice and value priced. A few of the items listed on website that were available really were not. Unfortunately it did not have working wifi unless you stood outside near the garage. This was a problem as we needed to do work for our jobs. Also, the location is farther than indicated from the actual downtown. It is not a safe or close walk, so need to drive downtown. When we were there we were unable to sit outside due to a strong order that the owner said was from rotting cranberries. For us, the best part was the washer and dryer as we came off a cruise and needed to wash for to have clothes for the remainder of our trip. It was a good value for what else was around but think the owner needs to remove that there is wifi, Also as a side note, the massage chair was broken, the remote to the ceiling fan was missing, and it was very difficult to regulate the temperature inside the house.

Management Response
15 Sep 2014
The WIFI is a new feature and I appreciate the feedback. The equipment is being relocated so the connection is better.

The Talkeetna Majestic is described as located in a spruce and birch forest — a 5-10 minute walk will bring you to the edge of our approximately 6 block town, so I think the location of “Downtown Area” is accurate.

Alaska is wild….a cabin in the woods will have the possibility of wildlife. Personal safety is important and choosing to drive the 2 minutes it takes to get to restaurants and shops maybe a good choice at times.

It is unfortunate that visits coinciding with the first frost of fall means that the bushes and flowers began to die and smell bad for a week or so. Nature did provide beautiful fall leaves of gold on the birch trees.

The massage chair is broken will be replaced soon — shopping in Anchorage is 2 hours away. The lost remote will also be replaced.

Thanks for staying at the Talkeetna Majestic and for your comments.

“Perfect for us!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This place is truly magic. We traveled as a family of five - my husband and I, our 3 adult children with one new spouse. Very clean, well stocked, interesting story, fabulous porch and a great set up with three bedrooms. We only were able to stay one night but it was perfect. Very relaxing and gave us a chance to regroup from travels, and start on new travels. Talkeetna is a great little town, it took a little while to learn to like it. Very simple, lots of artistic stores and good food. Definitely recommend it!

“Grand and Cozy”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

My husband and two adult sons had a wonderful time in Talkeetna. Guys really enjoyed ziplining, while my husband and I visited town. Unfortunately there was a ton of rain, as can happen in the mountains, but being able to enjoy some lovely family time sitting by the fire in the grand living room/kitchen/dining room playing games and watching DVDs - all found in the home waiting to be used - was very special! There is a lot of space in this beautiful home and everything is so beautifully crafted and feels brand new. Francine, the owner, lives on the property and she was warm and delightful. On our final day, the clouds cleared and we had the most amazing view of Denali and the entire mountain range. As an aside - GREAT food can be found in restaurants in town, but how nice it is to be able to make a big breakfast at home. Do stop on the main road at Cubby's, about 15 miles from town and pick up groceries!
