We were driving from Christchurch to Oamaru, but decided, as it was late to stop and spend the night in Ashburton. The Ashburton Motor Lodge was the first vacancy sign we saw. Imagine how grateful we were when we discovered what a fabulous place this was. Everything you need, and then some. The staff are brilliant and welcoming and easygoing. The spa bath was an added extra to a cold rainy exhausting night. This place is superb.

Room tip: Great place - don't hesitate.

This is an extremely comfortable place to stop if you’re travelling from Christchurch down to Te Anau or Milford Sound. The beds were very comfortable for a motel and the room was fit with kitchenette, lounge and spa bath. We stayed in a 2 bedroom. We also enjoyed local dining at the Phat Duck. We got a 10% discount. We would stay here again.

Would have to be without a doubt one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The owners were so lovely and welcoming couldn’t have done anything more for us. The 2 bedroom unit we had was facing the main traffic street but they had double glazing on the windows and you couldn’t hear a thing. The beading was beautiful and really luxurious, the dinner set was perfect as was the decor. Would have loved to have stayed longer.

Good morning Kaydee and many thanks for taking the time to review. It really helps us benchmark our facility but most of all it pushes us to strive for an even better product. We love what we do and enjoy meeting new people every single day.
So pleased you had a peaceful night's sleep and I guess we can put that down to the layering of protection we have chosen for the windows. Let's hope you can come visit us again sometime. Travel safely.

Really enjoyed my stay with this motel! Very friendly owner and very comfortable rooms. A big spa bath tub in the room. Slept really well with the comfy bed and pillows! Have everything I needed. Room looks modern and newly furnished. Only downside is a small tv.

We stayed one night at the Ashburton Motor Lodge. We'd booked a two bedroom apartment for two couples but they had oversold their two bed units so were offered two seperate one bed ones at the same price which was fine. The room was comfortable and clean but there had been a smoker in the room. While I didn't stipulate a non smoking room - I should have or asked to be moved to another room. It did spoil our stay a bit but it is my own fault for not asking to be moved which I'm sure they would have done. They did think of everything - even ear plugs for the traffic noise. The playroom for kids was a nice touch.

Room tip: Stipulate a Non smoking room and don't get caught like we did.
