We got a 2 night stay from Grabone and it was very good value, breakfast was great with a varied choice. We were given a packed lunch on the Saturday which was really nice and plentiful. Evening meal was good. The hotel itself was very clean and had everything we wanted, it is slightly dated but no that much compared to some I have stayed in. The host Chris was very friendly and I loved being greeted by Brodie the dog each time. It is a short 10min walk to Ohakune town and there is some stunning scenery with Mt Ruapahue in the area. I would definitely stay here again

I stayed here with my husband and two friends a couple of nights whilst during tramping in Tongariro Crossing.
Our host Chris was lovely. He got up early and made us a delicious breakfast with a variety of menu selections and made us yummy sandwiches and little treats for our tramping in Tongariro Crossing.

When we got back exhausted from the tramping, we had dinner in the hotel. The dinner was lovely he even catered for me as a vegetarian.

If you are looking for a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, I recommend this cute B&B.

The highlights of this Motel are Brodie the dog and Chris who is a very good host. The location is easy to find, but does back onto the highway, so there is traffic noise up to about 11pm and from 3.30am. That being said the rooms are comfortable with nice beds and everything you need except a toaster! Exec rooms have the bedroom upstairs and bathroom downstairs, so beware the stairs in the night!

My wife and I had a really comfortable stay at this lovely hotel in Ohakune. Chris, our host, was always on hand to help and lots of helpful information. We did the GrabOne deal that included transport to the Tongariro Crossing, a packed lunch and accommodation. This is excellent value for money! Thank you, Chris, for going the extra mile with my gluten free diet - it was very much appreciated! The spa pool at the end of the walk was divine - a perfect relaxation on some aching muscles.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom cottage with our 3 kids. It was a great size, with 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. Beds were comfortable. It was good to have a really big lawn in front with the petanque court - heaps of space for running and playing. Obviously being on the state highway means you need to actively supervise younger children. It was walking distance to town (and the carrot!). Would happily come back again.

Room Tip: The cottage was a great size for our 3 kid/2 adult family.
