Good food, beer and wine available, only negatives are the chairs do not fit under the tables, so you need to reach over a bit. Also very slow to get the bill.

Jeevan restaurant looks really inviting. Service was good, and the menu was comprehensive. Unfortunately our choices weren`t the best..........sizzling chicken (where the sauce was excellent, but the cuts of chicken were really scraggy/not breast) and a vegetable noodle dish, which was simply bland.....not bad, but decidedly average. It may well be that other selections are much better.

We have been in Kovalam a while and we love this place. Cold beer, good food an good service. What more can you ask for. Try the fish malabari it's very good. Khan is the best server on the beach. Fast and attentive making sure your mug never goes empty!

This is a large restaurant right on the seafront promenade along lighthouse Beach.
There's always a friendly waiter outside trying to lure you inside, but then there's a long wait for service while the friendly waiter is outside smoking and touting. They are one of the few places that have a beer and wine license, and their Kingfisher beer is the cheapest on the beach at INR150 for a large bottle. I also ordered a half bottle of Sula wine at INR800, the only half bottle on offer. I have had some lovely to excellent Sula wines but this must have been their bargain basement quality, it was truly horrible. The menu is typical for Kovalam: multi cuisine, and relatively expensive. On our first visit we chose from the Chinese section, garlic chicken, and chilli garlic noodles. The food was ok but nothing special. We shared a Flaming Brownie with vanilla ice cream which was rather nice, but generally desserts seemed rather boring, just pancakes or ice cream (limited flavours).
We came back for drinks, and if you get a front row balcony table on the first floor, the ambience it nice and relaxed. Service, however, is so poor and slow that we changed our mind about giving another try for food.
