Matriki is a great place to relax and to use as a home base for island excursions. Lisa and Paul do a great job of orienting you to what the island of Aitutaki has to offer, and they can take you out on a custom-tailored snorkeling expedition and tour of the lagoon. The accommodations are rustic, but they're clean and have everything you need. You can't find a more idyllic location--right on the beach with the best snorkeling.

Room Tip: The tree house is perfect for two couples traveling together.

Meitaki for taking the time to write a lovely review of us here at Matriki. We are delighted that you and your family had such a wonderful experience here with us. It was pretty special to hear that you booked us after reading a wonderful article about Aitutaki, with a special mention from the author about Matriki, in your local newspaper.

I'm pleased we were able to easily organize the hire of a car for your trip which gave you the opportunity to get out to explore the island in full, as well as taking trips on the beautiful lagoon. We very much enjoyed hosting your stay in Paradise and hope to see you all return again one day.

Problem-free and factual communication with Lisa over e-mail and in person, I felt that Lisa is naturally positive "tuned" person - I like to interact with such people.
Everything was possible to organize - f.e. one day trip on the lagoon with Teking lagoon cruises, also transfer to/from the airport was trouble free.

Excellent location just few meters away from the beautiful beach and turquoise sea.
Personal bathroom, mosquito net in every window (=sleep not interrupted by the flying beasts), decent price for stay in paradise (I should stay here 5 nights instead of the main island - Rarotonga).

Internet available in the nearby Tamanu Beach resort. There is also possible to buy just coffee or buffet for breakfast and/or good dinner - I can recommend sunday evening dinner for 40 or 45 NZD.

Everyone on the island was very kind, Aitutaki is like paradise (on the other hand Rarotonga is much more touristic and "money" oriented).

I wish I could return one day to Autitaki.

Meitaki Atupaka - We very much appreciate you taking the time to write such a fabulous review.
Paul and I thrilled you had such a lovely time in Aitutaki and despite the fact it wasn't possible for us to take you on a lagoon trip in the short days you were here, we were only too happy to ask Teking to take you with his group, knowing you would have an excellent day doing the 'spots' we also visit.
You are correct in saying the beautiful people in Aitutaki are very warm and friendly; they are much more interested in making sure everyone is happy, looked after and well informed, rather than chasing the $$$ and this is so rare in the world we live in today. We feel very blessed to be a part of this community.
We do hope that you make it back to our Paradise one day. Until then, good luck with your future ventures.

We loved the spot! Absolutely island living and a great snorkel spot in front of the door! The beach was super nice, colourful fishes & corals everywhere, turtles, cats with no fear to sit on a coral and go for a hunt.
Perfect place for nice BBQs on the beach and hang out! Hammocks and seating are all on the beach in nice shade.
If you look for a place to relax and enjoy Aitutaki, you got at Matriki everything what you need.
The little treehouse and garden house we had was enough for us and we enjoyed it to stay so comfortable and cozy.
Lisa & Paul are there for your help! We appreciated it.
They also got scooters, bicycles and a water taxi to go on the other island in the lagoon. :-) If you thirsty - the water station is at the property!

Kia Orana Nicole & family!

Thank you so much for taking the time out to write your lovely review both here and booking.com for us at Matriki.

We were absolutely thrilled that you chose to visit us with your Mum, Aunty & Uncle who had travelled all the way from Germany, and that they were so captivated by their stay at Matriki. It honestly made Paul and I feel extremely proud of our roles as Managers in this little slice of Heaven.

Most people who visit Aitutaki, as you know, fall in love with the beauty of the island - but the permanent smile your family presented and the warmth and contentment you all displayed of the simple living here on the beach at Matriki was absolutely heart warming and a wonderful uplifting start to our new year!

Thank you so much for choosing us to host your stay and thank you again for the wonderful lunch you all made us too!

Paul and I very much look forward to catching up with you again sometime.

Crystal clear waters, empty white sand beaches, simple accommodation and a lagoon with outstanding sealife and paradisal dessert islands, my stay at Matriki was the highlight o my 5 month trip around the world. Lisa and Paul are warm hosts and the location unbeatable. This represents amazing value for money.

Kia Orana Laurie!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about us at Matriki Beach Huts.

Wow! To say that staying with us was the highlight of your trip around the world is a HUGE compliment and we feel very, very honoured, considering the amazing places you have visited and the experiences you have had.

Your stay with us was definitely not long enough and we wish, no doubt like you, that you could have spent longer on our beautiful island. We certainly hope that if the travel bug bites again and you have the opportunity to, we get to host your holiday again.

Ps. Hope the rice in the iphone worked and you managed to capture a few photos of your trip at least.

All the best of wishes (kia manuia)

I loved it here so close to the water, very comfortable bed in the tree house and the kitchen was just fine, outside shower.
Your hostes are very happy to include you in on any activity such as hula dancing, boy what a work out. Its basic but just great.

Kia Orana Robyn,
Hope you are well. Meitaki for taking the time to write a review for us at Matriki. We are very pleased that we could accommodate you while you were here to compete in the Island's Motu2Motu race and even more delighted you were part of the winning team! Of course we put that down to the great relaxing and restoring rest you had in the Lower Tree Hut, laying in bed listening to the waves crashing off shore and then the gentle lapping as it reached the beach right outside your door and the gentle breeze coming in (haha).
It was my absolute pleasure to share our Island dancing (konisize lessons) with you and take you along to get involved in the local activities.
Hopefully, like most who become smitten, we will see you again on our Paradise island in the future, until then
Kia Manuia,
Lisa & Paul, Managers
