I have no hesitation in recommending this property to anybody.
Great location and beautiful views from the very large covered veranda where we spent a lot of our time catching up with friends and family over coffee and/or a cold bottle of beer, barbecue dinners and even sharing a laugh watching the little piglets running across the front lawn competing with the chickens to get to the one mango that has just fallen from the neighbours tree. Not forgetting, watching the friendly locals drive past the house.
The house has a lovely feel and very well equipped. The owners have thought of everything to make anyone's holiday enjoyable. Screens on all the windows meant that we could leave all the windows open to make the most of the cool breeze with the air conditioning and ceiling fans an added bonus. And the washing machine - definitely paid its dues. With the temperatures constantly in the low to mid 30's the clothes didn't need much time to dry and when it rained you had ample clothesline underneath the house.
This was not our first stay at Te Vai Moana. It is definitely the best when it comes to getting away from the rat race in Sydney into a more homely relaxed environment.
The house was fantastic and ideal for a summer getaway - perfect for families and kept us nice and cool in hot weather. We loved the location as it was tucked away on the inland but close enough to get the highlights of Aitutaki island. A very enjoyable and relaxing stay with fabulous hosts.
A definite recommend to all choosing the perfect holiday home!
Aitutaki is such a small island it's hard to complain about location, but it's a good hike into town from here. Definitely need a scooter to get around.
The place is surrounded by free roaming chickens which are noisy all day and will wake you at 4:00 AM every day.
The house itself is nice and clean. The washer is nice, but there's no dryer. Kitchen is nice, but it would've been nicer if the blender worked.
With 3 young kids we prefer self catering, and the accomo on Aitutaki seemed to be either very expensive luxury honeymoon resorts (not conducive for our noisy 4 year old!) or at the other end basic backpacker style accomo. This house was perfect for our family needs - clean and spacious and lots of garden for the kids to run around and make friends with the local kids and chooks next door! We had the space and modern amenities but felt we got more of a real island experience staying in a local neighbourhood. Aitutaki is simply STUNNING - only a few miles wide doesn't really matter where you stay as everything is a short drive away. There was a great cafe and grocery store a few minutes drive from the villa. HIghly recommend - partic for those visiting with kids. We were met at the airport promptly and with beautiful Leis - and our friendly neighbours gave us coconuts and fruit/veg galore! Owner was very helpful and friendly - very quick communication by email. Only just writing hths review now as we were emigrating overseas and life got in the way! - but felt compelled to write review as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
Te Vai Moana Villa is actually a relatively new 2 storey home set on a large flat block of land.
it has a terrific verandah thats very large with good tables and chairs. We spent more time here than inside.
2 bedroom, user friendly kitchen, downstairs laundry and lots of friendly chooks. Oh and some cool local piglets who like to come and say g'day.
We found this place very comfortable. You need to rent a car on Aitutaki. Its a great little island to drive around.
We wont hesitate to book here again in the future. Aitutaki is a very special place.
