“Perfect!!!”
Reviewed 8 December 2013

The Escape and its staff are simply phenomenal! We loved every second of it and can only recommend it! The Villa is amazing with all the privacy and luxury it still feels comfy and like home (or actually better than home :)) Vane and the lovely staff read every wish from our eyes. We loved the quiet that is never boring, the beauty that is never artificial and the service that is just perfect. Book it! You will love it and remember it forever!!!

My Wife and I stay in Aitutaki Escape for our Honeymoon. we stayed for ten nights in Henry's luxury chalets. Not only where the surroundings beautiful but the service was outstanding. Henry and his staff when the extra mile at every stage, but Henry really understands what customers expect from a five star resort, we never wanted for anything, organising trips, booking restaurants, friendy advice, tips or a chat about the rugby where never too much trouble for Henry. If i was to run my ideal resort I would want to treat my guests in exactly the same way as Henry. I can't speak highly enough of the service we were offered.
The venue was beautiful, sat out on the decking or in the hot tub drinking wine, relaxing and watching the beautiful sunsets. Life didn't get any better.
The swimming pool was immaculate, crystal clear and with the occasional crab in it. Henry cleaned the pool pretty much everyday and it was perfect to cool down in after having a sun bathe.
The Chalets where beautiful and the girls kept them immaculate. They where cool in the heat of the day and offered a perfect place to cosy up if you felt like it in the evening. Fantastic large beds with air conditioning to make your evening sleep super comfortable. Fully working kitchen if you feel like cooking, you couldn't want for anymore. Even a selection of DVD's
The beech outside is great for swimming, Snorkelling and canoeing at high tide and but a bit to much coral at low tide. There is a brilliant pool down from aitutaki escape that is nice and deep great for a dip. A quick bike ride takes you round to the laguna on the other side of the islan, which blows you away with it's staggering beauty. The Photo's do it no justice the views are breathtaking the snorkelling outstanding, we saw various interesting fish that are supposed to be a bit rare but i can't remember there names apart from great traveli's and something to do with napoleon. It was wonderful just to pop your snorkel in and swim with you head down and not worry about running into someone else or something else as there is so few people on the island that you can always find a quiet secluded spot.
We went out with Mona's water taxi's on our last two days to Rapota and motorakau. Mona was fantastic again really friendly and flexible, on the first day out he pointed out some turtles swimming through the lagoon. The islands are uninhabited and beautiful. We were joinged by Rapota on the second day by a family of pigs including twenty piglets which my wide and i where particuarly impressed with. they where exceedingly friendly but did like to eat things so you had to be a little firm. you couldn't ask to find a quieter and more peaceful setting than those two islands.
We went out with Teking cruises for an Island hopping day, the tour leader was absolutely brilliant, he had some great stories and insights into the island culture and history. we went snorkelling with thousands of little fish all swimming around. my wife was given bread to hold and the fish swared all around her. we had lunch on akiami with beautiful barbecused mahi mahi and tuna with some salad and other veg and fruit. the island is also a very strong are for nesting red tailed tropic birds with their fantasticly fluffy white chicks, we took plenty of great photo;s of these.
On our second day there we went out whale watching with wet and wild. He tried so hard to find some whales but to no avail. I think i was jinxed as after speaking to other tourists they had all seen the whales from their chalets and when out on other tours. never mind we will jsut have to go back and find some on another trip.
Places to eat are, Tupuna's which do fantastic catch of the day meals, really fresh and tastey. Puffy's takeaway they do great steaks and lovely fish and chips, very different from real fish and chips but still very tastey.
We ate twice at Koru Cafe. Really good home made food, plenty of flavour and plenty on the plate.
on one of the last nights we went to pacific resort, we had a really lovely more traditional meal with a bit of red meat on the menu whilst looking out over the moons glistening reflection on the crystal clear sea. perfect romantic end to a perfect romantic honey moon
we also did an island night at tumanu's, don't bother, not great and over priced.
My wife and I were both very sad to be getting back on the aeroplane home to the UK even if the trip back to the mainland was absolutely stunning.
I would advise anyone to make the journey, completely worth it. But don't tell everyone as we don't want it swamped with people!

The minute we were pickup from the airport we felt welcomed. I cannot add any further comments to what others have stated about the FANTASTIC location and accommodation other than if you are looking for pure luxury and a place that is quiet and private this is the one for you. When we were on the Island we had an opportunity to see other locations that we were thinking of prior to booking with Aitutaki Escape and very pleased that we went with this accommodation. For the price we paid and what we would have stayed in this was the better, more room, more seclusion and the service OUTSTANDING. Vane you have constructed a beautiful little paradise and cannot thank you and your staff for your outstanding service.

My husband and I stayed here for the second half of our honeymoon, and I'm convinced this is a pure slice of heaven on earth! These villas are absolute luxury! Every morning the turquoise lagoon was calm and welcoming beckoning for a swim, and every evening the sun sets in to the water right in front of our bungalow. HEAVEN!

The massive bungalow is the size of a full size home, complete with your own private pool, and separate jacuzzi hot tub big enough for a party, a full kitchen stocked with the basics (olive oil, seasonings, pots & pans ect), plus the expansive deck with your own runway out to the water. Our jaw was on the floor when we first walked through- this place is incredible! I loved the indoor/ outdoor feeling of the whole villa. Both the bedroom and bath are enclosed by glass so you have the feeling of being outdoors in a flowering jungle- but you don't have the unwanted creepy crawlers joining you.

Our hosts Vane & Lilly we so helpful and attentive throughout our entire stay, ready to set up and book any excursion we wanted, or just make suggestions. One day we mentioned to Vane we wanted to kayak around a couple of Aitutaki's other motos (little islands) to find our own private beach- so he pointed out a few on the map we could reach easily then loaded up his large double kayak and drove us out to the best drop off point to reach the little secluded islands. The next day he helped us get even more secluded by arranging a water taxi to take us out further to a deserted island we could have all to ourselves for a day. Vane gave us a cooler to pack, we loaded up with drinks and food, and the boat dropped us off with our cooler and a hammock and left us alone to relax for the day.

One evening my husband and Vane also conspired together to set up a private dinner for the two of us out on our deck. Since there is no restaurant on site at Aitutaki Escape this was a wonderful touch for a romantic dinner in. The food they chose was delicious, and the set up at the end of our deck was absolutely breathtaking. I didn't miss having a restaurant onsite at the villas at all. Since we had a full kitchen it was fun to cook sometimes, and it also led us to discover the locals favorites like Tupuna's restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend you have dinner at Tupuna's at least one night while staying in Aitutaki! It's a must!

We were so blown away with this beautiful property and all it had to offer that by the end of the week we decided to renew our vows there on site at sunset. Our hosts arranged for everything in just a few days- flowers, a beautiful archway, bouquet, leis- everything! It was a spectacular evening with another breathtaking sunset.

We are already planing out next trip back. I don't see why we wouldn't return every year to renew our vows again and again in this beautiful luxurious slice of heaven on earth.

Room Tip: Ask about the package deal with Little Poly. We booked a package including nights at Aitutaki Escape...

My partner and I stayed at first in Rarotonga for a couple of nights, and then went to Aitutaki to stay in the private villas at Aitutaki Escape for 5 nights. We were met by very friendly, welcoming staff at the airport, with 'ei draped around our necks, and taken to our lovely villa. The villa was very nicely set up and had a private pool and spa, and a fantastic spot on the picturesque beachfront. We were shown around and then given a personal tour of Aitutaki Island and shown all the resteraunts, shops, and any other place we were interested in seeing... I wanted some lemons so we stopped by a staff member's family lemon tree and they picked us lots! I felt very welcome.

We loved the way the villas had been designed, and I liked the flowers that were replaced every day when the cleaning was done, which was always to a good standard. The fresh fruit breakfasts were delicious. Vane Henry the manager was extremely welcoming and helpful, and any time we wanted to do anything he offered to ring and make bookings, or sort out scooter hire, dinner pick ups by resteraunt shuttles etc...

While on Aitutaki we found the people all very friendly and helpful, the island was truly a beautiful place to stay, the lagoon and reef were amazing, the small outer islands like a dream to visit and snorkel around... we fell in love with it, wanting to return another time in the not to distant future we hope!

I definitely recommend staying at Aitutaki Escape if you want a stay that is relaxing, with people who put a lot of effort into making your holiday an extremely pleasant experience in a spectacularly beautiful place.

Room Tip: All three villas are slightly different, one has two bedrooms etc... We liked the fact that our pool...
